Has anybody removed the GT emblem from the front fenders? Would like to know if there's a hole there or not. I like'm nekked. Anybody that needs to know what it is, will already know. To every one else, they'll never know anyway.

Thanks

One of mine came loose so I replaced them. It was a pain trying to get the new ones straight and still cover the holes, especially since the car is lowered. The original emblems are placed so they are straight with the stock rake. It makes them crooked when you change the way the car sits. you can see the new ones in this pic but not too well.

Wldchic removed all her GT emblems and her ride looks great:worship . There was a lengthy thread on this a few months back, try a search and see if you can find it, if I recall there was lots of input from several peeps on switching or eliminating the badges.

If you ask me, I like the V6 "fake gas cap" better. In fact, I am getting ready to swap my GT one with one on the V6's. The tri-bar pony looks better.

I was thinking about replacing the side emblems, but not sure about it yet. I think that I need to see how "big" the tri-bar pony is before I do it. I have been seening mixed reviews on how it looks due to size.

If you swap them, post some pics.

The 06 pony emblem fit perfectly where the GT emblem was. The holes in the fender and the pins on the emblem line up perfectly.

Bill, that looks really good. How did you take the GT emblem off and did you get the pony from Ford parts? TIA

You can use a heat gun, carefully, or a good hair drier, to soften the stick on tape. Then use either dental floss or a thin fishing line and use a sawing action around the letters to seperate the letters from the fender. then cleaning off any sticky mess left over.

Or, skip the hair dryer/heat gun and use a little more muscle and finesse.

I used a panel remover tool and a rag to protect the paint. I applied moderate constant presure. The emblem slowly came unstuck. Didn't leave any residue - in fact the GT emblem is still 100% sticky and reusable.
Now keep in mind that I did this within 48 hours of taking delivery of an ordered car.
