Hi guys! Newbie here.

Had bought my new '14 GT Premium (M/T, 3.73s, 19" wheels) last year in June. After clocking 5000 miles, I decided to take the first steps in modifications and something I always wanted to do :) Ordered my parts from American muscle.
Parts added --
- Shelby GT500 quad exhausts + rear valence
- GT500 spoiler
- Roush front spiltter

Next mods are going to be Steeda lowering springs and a CAI.

Let me know what you think about it :)

It looks great! I like the direction you have chosen to take the car. I would save my money on the CAI and go with a better shifter/ bushing setup. The CAI by itself is just a decoration.

Nice first mods and welcome!
Stunning blue in the Texas sun!plus1..gif
Forget the CAI, spend a little extra and get the MGW shifter. That will be a mod you will never regret.
Yes those modifications look very good on your car. Nice color too by the way.
looks nice- I think the springs will do a nice job as well. These cars have way too much wheel gap from the factory IMO

Hey GT,

She looks absolutely stunning!

Great start with your first mods, I especially love the Quads and the GT500 Spoiler, but I might be biased :handshake

Deep Impact Blue is almost unbeatable when clean and your mods really make it pop.

Thank you for your continued business and support, we appreciate it!

Feel free to reach out if you need anything!

Thank you guys! I see a good number of folks recommending a short throw shifter. I know about the plaguing problems with MT82s. Will a short shifter solve some of that issue?

Looks great! I really like the quad exhaust/valence. That may be my next mod.

Hey GT,

The problems plaguing the MT-82 are widely discussed but in my opinion sometimes exaggerated.

I have had two MT-82 cars (2012 GT:2014 GT) and have no issues.

In regards to a short throw, you cannot go wrong with one. They tighten everything up and provide a much funner experience. They also do take out some of the "clunk" out of these transmissions.

I personally run the Barton Industries Short Shifter and Two-Post Bracket and absolutely love it!

I would highly recommend it.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the suggestion. Eeen I haven't had seen major issues with the MT82. All that I have noticed in my car is that when the car is cold, the gears are hard and don't slot in easily (espeically 1st and 2nd). But it shifts much better when i have run the car for a few minutes.
I guess I'd rather spend my $300 on a short-shifter now than a CAI. I am not crazy about having more power, and honestly the pony already has bucket loads of it and as my daily driver I don't need any more :)

Hey GT,

Living in Philadelphia I know that feeling oh too well!

We've had a few negative degree days recently and I've had to take the 5.0 out a few times.

These transmissions definitely need to come up to temp before they can be driven (easily) but I do think a short throw and bracket will really help!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have the barton short throw shifter and 2 post bracket. It has along with a lot of other modifications helped with the high speed shifts. However, honestly from what I hear and what I saw in a youtube video the MGW race version would be the best way to go.

I too have the 1st to 2nd gear issue when cold. I had the XL-18 additive installed but I really don't know if it changed much. Your car may have came with the additive.

Beautiful color, and looks great from the the back!
What's involved installing that lower valence? Do you have to cut the original bumper cover? Looks fabulous by the way. I'll throw in with the others on the CAI. The OEM box is actually pretty good as is. Running down the road and comparing incoming air temperature in the gauge mode panel to the ambient air on the radio, they are usually within a degree or two, if not the same, IAT goes up higher than ambient in traffic, but I think any CAI with the filter under the hood would do the same if not worse. I would agree a shifter improvement is a better investment. I love my MGW.

Very nice man !!!! If you go with an intake and cannot afford a tune get AIRAID's Intake, it comes with a Modular Venturi Tube so you can run the OEM Tune. When you can afford an SCT device you then remove the MVT and retune the car with a Pre-Made AirAid Intake Map. Good luck with the car man, I see you are in TX so maybe we'll see you on 1320 soon :p
