I have a chance to buy a 91 GT dark red with porno red interior, and an auto. for 2200.00. Was wondering if it is worth it? It has a rebuilt auto. I wanted manual with black interior but that can be changed seem like a good deal or not?

I have a 1990 Mustang Gt, The car is red with black and red interior. The car is in pretty good shape. very solid car would be a great start to a nice ride. The interior is exelent, no rips anywhere and the plastic is nice. The under side of the car is solid. alittle surface rust but can just be brushed off, no holes anywhere, THe body is in good shape, a handfull of dime size dings here and there but good for the year. Has Brand new head lights and fog lights. Brand new front bumper due to someone backing in to the old one. The car is an automatic the trans was recently built has a small stall put in around 2200 rpm, and a shift kit it shifts very nice. THe only mods on the car are flowmaster mufflers, a cold air intake, and 255 walbro fuel pump, other than that it is as stock as it gets down to full smog setup and ice cold a/c
the car has power windows, locks, steering, also has a sunroof, keyless entry with alarm system, Pony wheels with good tires, 245/50/16 all around New shocks and struts installed, new brakes, recent tune up, electric fan conversion with adjustable thermastat , and a fms heavy duty radiator. Car could be driven anywhere in the us. rides very smooth

supposidly no rust and engine is strong, he lives seven hours away so I'm gonna send a 500.00 deposit and then go get it next weekend when I have time to make the road trip. I'll probably just trailer it home. No sense in driving and gassing a car and a suv.

i picked up my first mustang a month ago, a 1990 gt 5spd, 133k. i got it for $2,000 buying from local classifieds. it needed tires a wax and the drives seat was broken(which ive heard is really common) other than that its pretty nice. i think i got the better deal :)

I think the color thing depends on the looks.

But, personally, if you're not driving a stick, I feel you are just wasting a car.

Mind you, that's only an opinion

and now for the other side :eyepoppin
i LOVE driving a manual car, its alot of fun dont get me wrong.
but if youre going to beat around in the city smokin kids in honda's, its nice to have the auto for that nasty traffic between redlight rumbles. i just feel that the stick gets old after a while, but maybe im just lazy, who knows lol.
but hey, also just opinion! probably the only guy on this site who would prefer an auto!

i have plenty of fun with my AOD :thumbsup

I'll agree to disagree on that quote.

While having an Auto is certainly good for those long, lengthy days in Traffic, I still feel that me being able to control my gears great increases the productivity of my vehicle.

Not only that, but fifth gear saves on GAS! And you can run Fifth at a pretty low MPH...

AMEN! to that!! Try sitting in traffic in southern California, where it takes you one hour to travel 10 miles.... The shifting gets old REAL fast.

Granted, Blasting down the coast, shifting gears is a blast as well, but out here with the traffic, you wont go more than 2 blocks before you hit traffic again.

indeed, i wuold say that both sides have their advantages and disadvantages. im not gonna lie, after i get out of school and get a real job, i do plan on going to a 5 or probably 6 speed for the stang, but my driver will always be auto.

i like the manual better myself. i agree i like to be in control of the gears and yes you gotta love that 5th. at the moment i have the aod. im trying to get rid of it for a manual. i act like it is a manual all the time lol. i always shift the gears myself. the worst part about that is doing the first to second shift. after you get it down where to shift at then you can really kick some rice lol.

I'd rather R&R a manual than an auto!
Wish I had an auto when crawling in clogged traffic.

I bought mine for $5300. Supposedly it has 370 HP (need to dyno it), never seen a winter, really really clean and nice, Near perfect interior, rebuilt tranny, rear end, suspension, 96K. I was happy.

If I needed a car, I'd buy the $2000 one. Don't want the auto, but if it's recently rebuilt, I'd be alot less leary.
