Here's a strange one. I went to Ford's Ford Fleet web page to check my vin for fun and used the vin decoder (https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin_tools/default.asp). The decoder "decodes" my GT's vin (1zvht82h565162923) as a 6 cylinder vechicle...
Interesting! I know it's an 8, I can see it plain as day!

the Web based "decoder" has been wrong since the beginning - somewhere there is a PDF you can download which IS accurate. We all played with this a little over a year ago when the cars were first getting into our desparate hands!

You're right, it's WRONG! I looked at the PDF (https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin_tools/pdfs/VIN2006.pdf) and it's correct there.
Thanks for the info. Shows you that you can't trust computer software sometimes!

It was only good on the '05 model I think.
