so, I started checking out my new car, and found something under my seat. Some kinda new mounting bracket or something. Either way It looks like I need a friend who can weld near chicago... new floor pan here I come!

Well that is a first. Pretty dangerous though you need to get it fixed.

true, but after an initial walk through the junk yard, all of the ponys I've seen have their brackets rusted beyond belief..

I am not sure if I can get one off, even with some PB buster

If you pull the carpet up on some even well kept stangs you are likely to find all kinds of rust there.
The reason is Ford is stingy with seam sealer and these things leak like sieves.

This is especially true for the convertibles in the area where the floor pan meets the frame rails.

Just ask the 05+ guys who are battling cowl leaks etc.


Seriously though, get that rock out of their because it will become a deadly weapon should you get in an accident.
