Hey guys I have been looking at A/B recently and am leaning to the Flowmaster Outlaws, however I want others insight, are the outlaws loud to the point where I will getting caught up with the police often or can it be tame in the neighborhood still loud but not obnoxiously loud. My second choice would be the Roush axle backs however I have the gt500 AB on my gt right now and while some people say the Roushes are stupid loud others say it is very comparable to the GT500s(which i not what I am looking for) . If anyone has any input on Roush and/ or Flowmasters that would be fantastic. My overall goal with the exhaust is to be loud but not increase the attention I receive from cops. ( I do understand there is a drone with the flowmasters I am fine with that,). Thank you in advance for the input!

edit* forgot to add I have listened to many sound clips from each exhaust and am still not sure as many of them say it is much louder than in the video. If anyone can link me a video that most resembles the real exhaust note that would be much appreciated. Thanks again.

thanks a bunch! The decibel readings actually really help out!
I went back and forth as well. I ended up with Outlaw axlebacks and am very happy. I came from a very loud Fox cammed, heads, no cats, offroadH, 2 chamber flowmasters and LOVED it.

This 13 GT all stock with just Outlaws is every bit of that without the cam lope. It is loud. Though at idle it is just a low rumble, much like an old boat with a V8. WOT it is LOUD, like 2 streets over and then some loud.

People will comment all the time on how good it sounds. Some will stop you to tell you. As with my old Mustang if I get out of it or drive it normal it is fine. Though still fair to say everyone around you will be looking at you.. liking it or frowning. It is way too much for any average driver, and most of them would be intimidated of being so loud in normal traffic but then hey we drive Mustangs, we love and live to hear our cars, we are not average.

I have had the police behind me numerous times without issue, but then I drive as or more civilly than most. There is drone, lots of it. As bad or worse than my Fox, but TBH I like drone, it is part of it to me. It does mellow a bit after 1000 or miles.

I am still not sure if I like Roush better, they do sound good. Though they get a rasp up high these don't so much. The best vids to watch are in car for exhaust. My actual fav for in car sound was Magnaflow competition but they are avail catback for 13/14. They do sound really good though and would have been my pick.

Message me if you want some in car vid, I'll link you to my youtube and a couple goods ones I used to decide off youtube if you want. Don't think we can post that kind of stuff here. These Outlaws also (completely stock car otherwise) will pop and crackle like crazy on decel or let off.. if you like that kind of thing, if you don't don't consider them.

Well, I have Flowmaster Outlaws and when I got them on, I thought they were pretty loud and the exhaust mechanic indicated they were pretty loud. But...once I had the long tube headers installed w/ the off-road x-pipe...Holy Schnikies! This is so loud! If I could go back, I would have gotten something not quite as loud. But I am not regretful. Jake Lamotta, from Lamotta Performance told me that when he was dyno-tuning the car (after all mods were incorporated), he said he's not sure why, but this Mustang screams so loud, that he heard the echos bounce off the side of a warehouse across the street, and this is a huge street (3 lanes on each side, separated by a really wide median). On a cold start, she vibrates the house (in the garage) and things rattle, but after about 45 seconds or so, it's a very tolerable, low, rumble. But when I get on her a little, after 3.5k RPMs is when she ROARS! Sounds like a top-fuel dragster! But remember, my exhaust is far from stock.

I've got the Outlaw catback on my '11 GT and haven't had any trouble with the police, you just have to drive smart and be selective when and where you open it up, and for how long, lol.
