What flywheel would I have to use on a 302 from a 1979 ford ltd and make work with a T-5 from a 1988 gt mustang?

im assuming its a flywheel that would bolt on to any 87-93 so the clutch and tranny can mount up.
i know someone who put a t-5 in a 70 mach and they had to put a flywheel from a foxboody so everything would bolt up

It doesn't what trans or type of clutch set-up you are using, you have to match the balance of the flywheel with that of the motor..Think even the flywheel from a 221 will bolt a 2001 5.0, you'll have bad vibration problems but it will bolt up. Did your buddy also change to a later Fox body motor with the 50 oz balance?

My buddy has a 88 Gt and he is changing engines. The engine that he is wanting to use is from a 79 ford ltd car.
You're good to go with what Reggie said.
Mustang Okalhoma, for real?
Dave
yes a 157t 28oz flywheel and balancer

It does matter because there are different tooth counts (157T or 164T) on the flywheel or flexplate.
Reggie and FoxChassis are both right. It is a 28oz counter balance for a '79 motor and the 157 tooth does matter or it won't fit in the bell housing. The 5.0 motors and bell's only hold a 157 tooth flywheel, the 164 tooth will scrape the inside of the bell housing. :bigthumbsup
