i'm in the process of looking for a motor. there are a couple of articles in the local paper for a ford 360, and a ford 390 w/c6 transmission. will either of those motors bolt up to my 85 mustang with the proper cradle and mounts?
Bad idea! 360's and 390's are from the same engine family, they are big and heavy compared to something like a 351w or 302. you would be better off with a 351w if you want more cubes. They share alot with the 302/5.0 and there is a ton of speed parts available for them. You can stroke one out to 400+ cubes if you want. Don't confuse the 351w with a 351c which is completely different than a 351w.You can put a 360/390 in if you want but good luck finding headers and mounts.
