I would agree with that. I let a buddy of mine try out my '11 GT/CS and he was shocked at how "luxurious" it felt on the inside. He was extremely impressed/shocked with the quality look that they put in.
WOW, sorry to read that! I've got to believe though based on mine that's the exception and not the rule. I've been drving mine now for 19 months and 11k miles and have yet to experience the first rattle. The only fit and finish problem mine has is inside I can see the mold outline in the A pillar trim. For the longest time I thought that was extremely tacky of Ford quality control, but then I got in my Sister's $75k Mercedes and saw the very same thing.I would rather they spend a bit more money on putting their cars together better. A few pennies worth of glue would stop 90% of dashboard rattles. Spend a bit more time in assembly putting the interior together would do wonders for the plethora of fit and finish complaints.
My car has been in the dealership 9 times now for warranty repair work, and 7 of those times were for simple fit and finish issues that could easily have been taken care of at the factory if you would just spend a bit more effort into doing the job right the first time.
Just take a lesson from their own web site. It does a pretty good job of "melding".Yeah, the creature comforts are sweet, but I think its kind of sperate from the image Ford wants for the Mustang. I wonder how they'd meld them together.
I know people flip when they see the trim I have on mine. THe glass roof blows their minds. My buddy with the Caddy CTS was like "oh, I wish mine was like that."
I also get a little amustement out of the reaction from people I text message when they get the little "This message was sent form my Ford" tag at the bottom.
Yea, I hear you on that. I don't care if an eco boost four is fast, it won't sound the same!If the V8 goes away from the Mustang, I have bought my last one!:nono:
Somehow you've missed the point. With a KIA I think everybody expects more bang for your buck in creature comforts. Without that all it has is economy going for it. Where Ford has dropped the ball is in promoting that with the Mustang you can get world class performance AND creature comfort.Because you can get a 2008 KIA and it has that in there already…
Well . . ... "better" will vary from person to person. I traded a MOPAR for my Mustang so I looked at Challenger and Charger, but again "better" is questionable? Furthermore, at that time Chrysler would take your order as well as money, but they couldn't tell you when you'd see the car you bought. Ridiculous! I also looked at 1 and 3 Series BMWs, but talk about dealers with attitudes. WOW!The only problem with that is that once you get the electronics package, security package, comfort package, glass roof, etc, you easily have a $45k Mustang, if not more. There are much better options than the Mustang at that price point if you are really into the interior amenities.
After the rentals I've had from Ford (Escape, Fiesta), I REALLY love our interior. It's simplistic, modern, great lines, solid features and everything just flows nicely. Can't say that for most of the cars on the road today because they're over doing it.
Some folks gripe about the leather.. the leather is holding up great in our 2010GT.I don't mind our interiors either. Ok, sure the materials are kinda cheap but it's not garbage either. Granted, there is considerably better out there.
The leather in my 2012 is doing fine as well, but I think it's more leather like than actual leather. I wipe it down once a week with Armor All leather wipes. Some folks gripe about the leather.. the leather is holding up great in our 2010GT.
I have the cloth in my 2011.. and it is horrible; fraying everywhere.
