Well we swapped a built 302 into a 1983 rx7. The rx7 is completely tubbed, has a 4 link kit in it 12 point roll cage and a 9 inch fornt rear end. The whole car with driver and 5 gallons of gas is just over 1900 lbs. The engine has stock forged pistons from a 93 5.0 i think, we flycut them because out heads are 1969 351w heads masively ported, 2.02/1.60 valves, 1.6 roller rockers, and triple valve springs. I can't remember the lift of the cam but it was just over .550, which we are looking for another with close to .600 lift and closer to 300 duration. The rods are 302 boss rods with arp studs. For an intake we had a tunnel ram which is getting switched to a victor jr. intake. And we are running a preditor carb. For a tranny we are running a C6 with transbrake and full manual valve body. We were launching at 2500 rpm which really hurt our 60' times(1.8) we are getting a 4500-5000 coverter built for next season. The only racing we have been doing is a local 1/8 mile track at 6200 ft above sea level which we ran a best 7.78 @ 92mph. Which was really kind of dissapointing considering we were running 5.67 gears.

Cool! are you gunning for the $2006 Challenge?
no... but we probably could have, we got the car for free and had almost all the parts just lying around. We are just wanting to put a shot of nitrous on it start with 150 then use a second stage of 100, but thats down the road
lol I've thought about doing that . I always thought it would be cool . How do you like that predator carb ?
I really like the predator, it is easy to adjust and use, and flows a ton of air
So would you use one on a street car ? I mean is it god all the way through the power band ?
It is very good throughout the power band and is very easy to set up and fiddle with. It feels just as responsive as a holly when driving, but if you have it in neutral and crack the throttle it doesn't quite sound as snappy.
