Ford Service manual program install issue

2596 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  tobe1424
I downloaded the 2000-2004 Ford Service Manual in an ISO format and installed it on my XP, Win7. Since the diagrams would not open and gave me OBDC errors I tried to install it on windows 98 and it said I am missing system components.

Does any one know what are the requirements in order to install or view the diagrams?

Many thanks,

You might try downloading this MS JET Database engine.

Microsoft Jet Database Engine 3.5 - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET

Some of the Ford Service manuals do not like Win 7. I had good luck installing it under a Win XP virtual machine.
Thanks for the help. So you got it to work on an XP platform? I will try to install the jet db first on the xp vm and then on the win 98 if that doesn't work.

The Jet software is included in Win/XP service pack 3. I have encountered this same problem myself trying to get older versions of the Ford DVD to work on today's PC's.

Try running a more recent version of the DVD. They run fine on Win7 and Win/XP.

I maybe able to help. PM if interested.
i tried installing the jetpack db but not much happens. I also downloaded the latest jetpack for my service pack 3 XP machine but it says I dont have to install since I have SP3.

What did you guys do that installed this properly? Again, I can see the workshop manuals I just cannot get to the diagrams.
