I have a 1989 Mustang convertible and it's about time to replace the top. I know it's not the original top on the car and it doesn't have a head liner. I always just assumed it didn't come with one but I've seen some for sale. Did the Fox Mustang Convertibles originally come with a headliner and it just got removed by whoever last replaced the top? And if I had a headliner installed, would it go up and down without bothering the top or work fine?

Headliners were installed starting in '91. They also replaced the frames too. If you would like a headliner top, you'd need to install the 91-93 top frame to do it right. I like my top w/o the headliner as it's retro to me. Had a 60's vert in the '70's so thats what I'm used to. Good luck!
