I recently bought a 92 LX 5 speed. It's basically stock except for a BBK air intake. I'm planning on installing a TrickFlow H/C/I, headers and off-road exhaust. Are frame connectors enough or should I also install torque box supports? I know I'm not going to have a ton of H.P. but I've heard of the torque boxs being torn up! Thanks for any help. -Dave

The torque boxes can always use a rewelding/reinforcing but if they're in decent shape, they should be fine. Check em out and see if there's any cracks around them. If you find just one, reweld them both.
The frame connectors are usually enough for a street car.

Thanks Eagle! The torque box looks fine. The vehicle just went through a 4 to 8 swap, so I know the torque box isn't all torn up.:bigthumbsup

It's where the front of your control arms connect. I had the lower control arm on my 5.0 tear out, not pretty at all.

You should be ok, but if you have the money, why not just take care of it now?
