I am from Ma, and this lovely state requires you to display both a front and rear plate. I straight up refuse to drill into my bumper, and according to the dealer, they do not make a bracket for the 07. I havent been given a hard time yet, but where I live it's only a matter of time before it starts to become a problem. The last thing I want is to get a ticket for no front plate. Anyone live in a state that this is required as well? If so is there a bracket available? Or do I just bite the bullet and drill away? :so

Yes. Texas, it sucks but im like you and not drilling into my cs6 front bumper. Just be smart about what your doing out there on the road. All your doing is giving them a reason to puill you over. So having some beers and then driving your car around wouldnt be the smartest thing to do. If you pay attention its amazing how many cars actually dont have a front plate on.

Very true, 3 people I work with alone don't have front plates, they have been stopped, but talk their way out of it..lol. I hate the idea of ruining the front end with a gross plate.....but at the same time don't feel like dealing with the locals ya know.

Unfortunately there isn't a lot that goes on here....a dead squirrel can make the news on real slow days. So if they are in a mood, they don't need much ya know. But thanks for the confirmation there is in fact no bracket. I'll just keep the plate in the car with me and B.S. my way through it. :hihi:

But if you got the remote control one, you could really leave it down all the time, and if you ever got pulled over..... pop it up quick and stash the controller in your glovebox lol. Really mess with the cop that pulls you over, especially if thats the reason your getting pulled over. Say sorry sir/maam I have no idea what your talking about... I have a front plate on lol

Might even be worth the 160 bucks just to see the look on their face when the go up front and you see them mouth "WTF"

Just put the plate on your dashboard. That way the officers can see it through your windshield. They shouldn't give you a problem as long as they can see it from the front. A guy I work with has been doing this for awhile and hasn't gotten a ticket.

I bought my Stang when I was living in Ontario (Canada) and they had drilled holes in the front bumper...Not cool...Then I moved back to Quebec where you don't need a front license plate...I had to pay to have my front bumper fixed and painted to get rid of the holes...But this is kinda funny: I work in Ontario and I've been pulled over 2 times by the cops over there for not having a front license plate even though I don't need one....And I was driving my Cobalt the 2 times...Now that the summer is finally here, I drive the Stang to go to work and I've never been pulled over because I don't have a front license plate...The cops are just staring at the Stang when they're passing me....:D

I live in RI and have not put a front plate on yet, but I am sure it is a matter of time before some rookie pulls me over. Most cops check the car out but have never stopped me. Plate on the dashboard does not cut it here. I may fabricate a bracket that mounts under the bumper so I do not have to drill the bumper. I hear the first offense is around $85.

I live in MA also. Beware that they passed a new law regarding licence plate frames (Back only from what I've heard) that your not allowed to have them. Heard from my parents when they went for their inspection sticker. I guess if the framing around it covers to much of the plate they need to fail you. (Well the mechanic said it was retarded to fail for that so he was just removing them)

As far as the front plate goes i went to advance auto parts and found a nice fairly solid metal frame with "Ford" logo's in bottom corners and just screwed it in (Cried as i did it) I couldn't find any kind of actual mount at any of the local stores and didn't want to hunt to mail order one. Cost was 19.99 if i remember correct. If i was smart at the time ,now that I think of it, You could find a piece of foam or something to put between to keep it from rubbing against the paint.

I got the car in CT and the salesman (one that does actual paperwork) was a fellow mustang owner and I asked him how he got away with no plate. He just said he left it in trunk and tells them he just hasn't gotten around to putting it on yet. he also said they "usually" don't give him a hard time. So you can always try and do it that way but in time you will get pulled over for it.

You can buy dynamat at best buy that is cut to fit under license plate... Really for soundproofing, but probably work to guard against rubbing.
