I filled up at the pump today. i had 68 mile left before empty. I filled up appx. 10 gallon with my ca raverage at 19.1 mpg. so i would end up with 68+190=258. But my car only read 192. what has happened?

Those numbers are not 100% accurate. You are averaging 19.1, that doesn't mean you're getting that all the time.

Like G.O. said.. it's an average. Not going to apply to all situations, especially smaller samples of data.
