Funny Interstate Driving Incident

I was driving to work the other day and the traffic was a little bit heavier than normal. I usually try to suppress my urge to weave through traffic, but I was running really late that day. So I turn on my fogs and *carefully* make my way through traffic. After a while, it clears up and I let into the throttle. Couple of seconds later, I come up on a BMW going around +12. I decided to just ride in behind him and not to push my luck (although I have never gotten a speeding ticket and have passed traps going well over +15).

To my surprise, the BMW pulls almost immediately into the middle lane. I kind of felt like a jerk, so I pulled in after him and flashed my lights to indicate that I was letting him pass. Poor guy then proceeds to pull into the right lane. "No, no..." I was thinking to myself as I slowed down. "This guy is getting the wrong idea." Before I knew it, he was coming to a stop in the breakdown lane. I was thinking to myself, what the **** is that guy's problem. When I told this story to my friend at work he turned to me and said: "Well, he probably thought you were a cop and was pulling him over." I loled.

I guess my black GT looks like the cruisers here.

That's funny. Either the guy felt like an complete idiot or you made his day when you decided not to ticket him. :gringreen

I usually get the exact opposite reaction from BMW drivers, as soon as they spot me they start driving like raging lunatics, I guess trying to "prove" how much better their cars are.

Funny how just driving a Mustang can get too some folks so badly.

:heha: :heha: :heha: Good one! I wouldn't doubt it! They used to use Ponies in California. Not sure if they still do. Some Arizona cities use unmarked late model 'Stangs. Haven't seen them used for Highway Patrol or County yet.

They use the 2010 Dodge Chargers here in my county at the CHP (California, Highway, Patrol). I havent seen any mustangs for police cars though. Ive seen CHP charger bolt after someone once and man that thing hauls butt, i think they have NOS in thouse things though. I dont know much about police cars but i dont think normal chargers can go from a stand still to a 100 like he did after -i think- he clocked someone.

Edit: im guessing his speed because i was going like 70-75 in the slow lane and he blured by me with his lights flashing and all.
