I'm looking for some instructions for installing a G3 130 amp alt. in my 90 5.0 Coupe. I know the 12 volts area very well, but, I just need to make sure that I do not mess this up at all.

Don't reconnect the black/orange power/charge wires to lug terminal on the 3G alternator, like that article outlines. Don't even cut them from the factory connector. Run the 4AWG cable only.

In short, too much juice for that wire. The thicker wire is all that you need.

Update, I finished up the G3 yesterday, and what a big difference! I didn't re-use the factory wires, I ran a 4GA from the alt to a 200 amp fuse, then to the battery side of the relay. At idle, it's 14.5 volts! Although my volt gauge says lower, but, tested with my digital meter at battery and alt, and it's right there! Thanks for all of your help everyone! If anyone has questions on car audio, that's my strong point, have done alot to my stang along with a complete audio/video system in my 02 Explorer.
