gauge face help

hey guys i need some advice and a idea to help spice up the interior or my 98 v6 stang. theres a new gauge face i want to install myself in the car and ive been looking online and seeing what all i need to do to pick apart the dash and install this thing. ive gotton as far as taking out the cluster but before i do anything else i ask how do you take apart the needles from the old face and set them in the new? now ive gone to autozone.com in there DIY section and it warned me that if i had the intent to remove the needles, it would mean that everything would be recalibrated and i would need a whole new set...if someone could i would appreciate it if someone oculd offer me a technique or advise to take care of this. thanks
