getting a gt500. Finally!!!!

i mentioned this car a few days ago in another thread. its a trade in at my aunts dealership. she was holding it for a few days until i made up my mind. today, i took it for a test drive. i talked to a salesman, and discussed a payment plan and how im related to his boss.lol. im going back on monday to actually buy it, but if you ask an employee there, the car is already sold.:bigthumbsup

its a black 2007 gt500 with 35000 miles. it came with stripes, but the previous owner removed them(not sure of the color yet). that owner also upgraded the lighting to HID units, and installed a KR hood, and KR trunk lettering (centered letters). it has the red/charcoal two-tone interior, a shaker 1000 stereo, and already has the dash plaque. as far as performance goes, the FRPP TVS supercharger replaced the factory one, as well as the intake and reflash. theres more power to be made from this setup, but it will stay this way since it has the dealer-installed warranty. it also has jba headers, and a borla exhaust.

as far as looks, i want to add the 20" black shelby razors, supersnake window scoops, cali-special side scoops, agent-47 mirrors, and a SHR faux-gas cap medallion. and maybe paint the rockers and rear bumper like the gt-cs.

pretty exciting. im gonna own a shelby.:D:D:D

I love the black Shelby gt 500`s . You going to get a good deal?
well, they are asking 34,500. i think thats kinda high for a used vehicle, especially since this car has a few scratches. i told my aunt i would pay no more than 31 for it, and she said that was fair. im also trying to use her employee discount, but i think thats only on new or pre-owned GM vehicles, and not for trade-ins

i am gonna have to fix something right after purchasing it though. the previous owner added boost, but kept the stock heat exchanger and radiator. so im gonna have to buy some afco/moroso goodies. wasnt planned, but im not gonna back out of this deal for something so minor
Damn thats awesome, wish i could get a deal like that! Anyways, good luck with everything, hopefully you can use her employee discount:bigthumbsup
good luck on the sale... let us know what happens.... a gt500 with a kr hood.... damn.... that is awesome!

You really don't need to add those just because the boost is upped on the car. While the larger AFCO heat exchanger would be a good addition it's not going to be a major change unless you plan on taking the car to the track a bunch.

Not that they would be a bad choice......just saying it's not a "have to"!:bigthumbsup
Congrats and you will love it everyday of your life, as if you don't already. The smile never leaves.
is it monday yet? lol.

i didnt think i would have to add the heat exchanger or the radiator, but when i test drove it, i got of the freeway and into rush hour traffic. i noticed the temperature jump quite a bit. i was gonna get it to be safe.

my test drive included some countryroads, then a 20 minute freeway drive, a few stop light launches, some crusing around the city and neighborhood, 2 burnouts, then stop and go traffic since i was dumb enough to try doing this at 5pm..but then again, it was over 80degrees outside, and i was gone for at least an hour. it didnt overheat, but did run warm:scratchchin

You'll never say "I wish I didn't have a heat exchanger." You'll only wish you did.

You may want to see what thermostat they have in the system. I live in Houston and with 95+ degree weather and horrible humidity (don't even ask about traffic) I haven't even had to change the radiator on my Gt let alone the Shelby.

I did upgrade the Heat exchanger. Only because I didn't want to worry as much about heat soak at the track. You just loose some power when the heat goes up on the charge air, if your running good gas and the tune is correct detonation should not be an issue. Currently my stock Eaton blower runs 14-15 lbs of boost and I never really saw any issues. i got the Heat exchanger for free so it was a no brainer.

Since this car has had a S/C upgrade does it have a tuner? You may want to check and see what tunes are in the car.
Congrats and great color choice. Post some pics if you can stop
driving it.:happyhapp
You better get a video up soon, I wanna hear that beast!!!
ive been working non-stop, so i wasnt able to get online.

the owner/operator of the dealership got the shelby for his 18yr old son for graduation.(it wont last six months) completely ignored my aunts request for the car, and went over the salesman's head to swipe the car up before it hit the used lot. ive seen it on the road twice. its sounds vicious when it flys by on the freeway at WOT.

i was pissed off for a month,(still a little angry) but i tried to ease the pain by shopping around for a 2010 gt. theres only a v6 vert driving around, so if i act fast, i can have the first gt in louisville

i want a 2010 gt with the roush appearance package and the frpp suspension package. white, with painted on vista stripes. and the engine parts from my 07 will bolt right up (heads, headers, ect...)

from there i thought a gt500 spoiler and modified/retrofitted 3D carbon side scoops would give me the gt500 look i want

Come to Cali....tons of 2010 GTs around here. Heck, check ebay, you may be able to find a GT500 for a better price (I grant, not with the upgraded supercharger and hood).
That sucks man, thats a beautiful car, but I'm sure you will find another one. I know how if feels to get a car yanked from underneath you. It sucks.:so
