could be...funny thing though, ever notice how Ford seems to concentrate on bettering themselves and GM concentrates on comparing themselves to Ford (or what -have-you)?

That is what I thought too but you can tell that picture is a 5.0 not a Shelby. GM can't afford a Shelby to test.

I think catching the Mustang in the background was a coincidence.

GM must be researching them for some reason. I got it. It was probably the test drivers daily driver.

Obama won't let them buy GT500's. He calls the shots.

I doubt their going to Pump the Camaro Z28 all the way to 600 Horses, I see the 563HP that the Cadillac CTS-V being the transplant maybe, they don't want to over shawdow the Corvette Z06 with 505 too much, it will need the every bit extra 63 HP to match the Z06's 505! So it will probably still be a few ticks slower than the Z06.

As long as they don't make the thing pink or bright yellow with stripes like that bumblebee *&# crap.... 7 and 8 year olds are more interested in those cars than anything else. Wow mommy.. .look at that toy driving down the street. They need to just make it look more "manly" instead of toyish.

There is no point comparing Camaro vs Mustang. They are left and right hands of the same body (American auto industry family). I already have a 2011 GT and would love to own a Camaro 2SS down the road if I can afford. No auto industry in the world has made cars like Mustang or Camaro in this price range. Be happy and enjoy driving either one of them...they are both beautiful cars.

Family Rivalry

That is like saying the rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan, or Texas A&M and Texas are the left and right hands of college football and there is no need to compare them. There will always be reason to compare. The fun debate of who is better renewed each year (for the cars and insert your team & your rival here!) That is what is great about the American Auto Industry family, you can fight back and forth but like a family the love is still there in the end. If the rival or the Camaro didn't exist then there is no rivalry. They need each other. So in my opinion keep comparing!!!! This is the only reason that these cars have become what they are today. If they were not compared then they might have 184 hp four bangers in them. Our comparisons help drive Ford and Chevy to want to make a better car. Just my .02

Comparisons have done nothing to these cars over the years. The advancement is based on affordability. A few years down the road if Ford knows that you can afford a v12 Mustang, it will make one for you for 100K..with a $25 pony badge on it. Same goes with GM. When I was ordering my GT, the salesman was throwing me over my budget and reached a point where I was considering a pre-owned Viper (which is another American marvel). One should compare his own affordability today and down the road instead of comparing cars created by one big happy family

Ford and GM compare their products to each other every day. They are fighting for the same potential buyers... who compare vehicles before they buy. Don't believe me. Look at the current horsepower Super Duty vs HD war. I'd say the V-6 mustang having 305 (one horsepower over the 2010 Camaro). They are comparing their products to each other. The public is comparing too. It is human nature.

Yeah, I saw that. They saw Ford was going to have more so they compared themselves with Ford and upped the rating. Competition makes things better for the customer.
