Got hit in back bumper..HELP

i recommend getting paint from a ford dealer thats close to you.

but you should consider yourself lucky. i got hit in my back bumper also. except it was on the highway + a pathfinder hit me. completely destroyed the bumper + put too holes in it from some hook things it had on it.

but shes all better now. :]

lol so im guessing you took it to your local ford body shop...did they replace the whole thing? if so how long and how much?

I believe the bumpers are designed to absorb an impact by crushing the filler material contained behind the bumper. Depending on how hard you were hit will change how much it crushed that material. The more it was crushed, the less it will protect you the next time you are rear ended unless that material is replaced.


Just food for thought.

I'm guessing this was while you weren't in the car, otherwise you woulda chased after her hardcore, right?

I got backed into in my kids school parking lot...the p3cker head was speeding!

Miraculously, the lights(with sequential signals) and the newly vinyled trunklid escaped unharmed....the latch needed replacing as did the bumper skin, the impact material behind it and the sheet metal. The impact material cost about the same as the bumper skin AND the sheetmetal.... :sterb: she was only 3 months old...

Shes all good now, with her new Borla mufflers(today!)...

This is one famous raccoon! nghtrnnr, I think I saw your missing grill piece on eBay being sold by one RoKyRac...not sure, but seems suspicious!
