Got my car today!

Drove 275 miles to pick up my car today! Words can't describe how happy I am with it!! :) The monthly payment's gonna be a biter, but I'll sign the damn check every month with a smile on my face. ;)

On her 275 mile maiden voyage, I noted that the Shaker 500 skipped twice on the first song of the first CD ever placed in it. After that, no problems. I hope it was just working the kinks out or something. Also, when filling her up courtesy of Greenway Ford in Orlando (great to do business with), I had the fuel shut-off problem. I tried about three times to get past the 6th gallon with a shut off each time. I figured maybe there was more gas in it than I thought, so I turned the key over and let the fuel gauge rise until it stopped at half a tank. Hmmm... needed more fuel. On the next try, it took the gas with no problem. Did they fix the gas tank problem in the 06s?

It was a rainy, gloomy day, so no pics. I'll try to get it out in the Sun tomorrow and get some photos into my gallery.

I know this has been discussed to hell and back, but can I get some suggestions for products to clean the exterior, the top, and the interior? Speaking of, what all is leather in there? The front seat surfaces, I know, and the steering wheel. What about those inserts in the doors? Any more leather in there I need to know about?

Does anyone actually use the vert boot? Man, the top folds up so clean! I've never seen a vert look so daggum good with the top down.

Woo hoo~!!! Congrats..I hate getting my payment, but it's allll worth it. :eyepoppin
Congrats! :eyepoppin
The fuel tank problem should have been taken care of during the 05 production.

Congratulations !!

Welcome to the GT vert family! I know you will enjoy the heck out of it! The only leather in your car are the front seat sitting areas, the steering wheel, and the shifter knob. Everything else is vinyl. I have only used my soft boot cover a couple of times. It is more trouble than it is worth to put on, and makes it look like the car has a camel hump on its back. I figured I would go ahead and get it since if I decided later on to get one, it would be more expensive to get it at the parts counter. Enjoy your new ride! :wavey

Cool. Try posting a couple pics in this thread using the manage attachments function, otherwise it will take a day or two for the powers-that-be to approve your gallery pics.

Here is what I use to care for my vert:

Raggtopp Vinyl Top Car Kit (recommended by the manufacturer of your top). The best price I found online is at AutoGeek.net.
Michelin Wheel and Tire Care System (got it at AutoZone)
Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Aloe Cleaner and Conditioning System.
ArmorAll Ultimate Clean (for non-leather surfaces) is great for those pesky shoe marks on your door panels and scuff plates.
ArmorAll Low Shine (satin) Protectant (for non-leather surfaces inside and out) keeps the plastic and vinyl looking like it came from the factory without that high-gloss blind-you-when-the-sun-hits-it look. :winks
Clay Magic detailing clay bar kit (again, at AutoZone)
Meguiar's nxt generation Tech Wax Paste for that Deep Gloss shine.
Mequiar's nxt generation Speed Detailer (for between wax shine and protection).

I also use a California Duster for everyday dust removal from the exterior (cheapest at Wally World), and a micro-fiber mitt for polishing. :wavey

Congrats on the new pony! Enjoy the ride!
Congrats on your new Stang. I feel you about the payment but it makes up for it during the next 30 days of the month.
When you're filling up on gas and it shuts off like that, just make sure the gas nozzle is going directly into the hole(not sidewaze in any direction). I usually just give it a jiggle, and the problem goes away. Just trying to help.

Of course you realize the car is now 2 years old and there's a good chance he doesn't even own it any longer ;)
It seem like a few of the old threads are poping back up lately.
Always like to welcome another GT vert member to the club !

I would bet the CD skip had more to do with the CD rather than the player. Try cleaning the surface of that particular CD with a soft cloth to remove and smudges, fingerprints, etc.

I have not used the boot cover yet. If I went to a car show I would probably use it but other than that probably not. Although I should put it on at least once so I can figure out how to do it !

"Should" being the operative word. My 06 did exactly what his is doing. I believe they re-angled the filler neck (?). Really hasn't been a problem since.
Congratulations!!
Dude, dig it. Dude, drive it. Dude, have a blast with the new Mustang. No regrets in Mustangland.
