grille for a 1998

i have a quick question about my 98 mustang.......... i just bought the car about a week ago... and im not sure whether the car is supposed to have a grille or not..... mine doesnt and the pony is also missing... when i search for a stock grille all that comes up are the billet grills... nothing stock
this guy who lives down the block from me has a 96 gt and when i asked him if his had a grille in it he said no... then i checked his car out when he wasnt around and it looks like a honeycomb grille behind the pony.... is this correct?
also if anyone knows where i can get the grille (if needed) and the pony and an estimate of how much it will cost, and whether i can install them myself i'd appreciate it

The grille doesn't protect anything. The only thing that would protect the radiator, would also block air flow.
