Ground effect work

I am planning on painting my "new" 87 Gt in the next few months. My plan is to smoth evrything out if I can. I want to fill in the MUSTANG GT on the side skirts and the rear bumper. I am not 100% sure of how to go about this. I thought about trying to sand them down and then fill the letters with plastic bumper repair but there is a chance that over time that will pop out and therefore exposing the letters.

Has anyone done this or know how to do this so it looks good and lasts?

You could use a system called duramix. It is a two part epoxy glue. Many uses such as large panels, small, smc, seam sealers, fillers, foams, everything. This is glue is great. check their web site out at 3m or duramix. It is widely used in most bodyshops everyday, this should be perfect for what you need.
thats gonna be a toughy no matter how you handle it.
but it's gonna look great when your done! good luck!
