I'm interested but not a member of that thread

Over at MustangForums.com they are trying to put together a group buy for a metal thermostat housing to fix the problem with the plastic ones breaking.

They need 30+ to get a group buy price of $135 each (versus the single unit price of $179).
Group Buy Alluminum Thermostat Housing! All interested reply to this thread - MustangForums.com

I hope it's okay linking to this other forum since it's a group buy opportunity.

I don't know if the recall still applies but ford lost a lawsuit back in the early 2000's requiring ford to replace plastic manifolds for free due to them cracking. My 99gt received one for free. Call dealer and check about the recall.
I've never heard of any recall for the thermostat housing, but even so Ford would only put on another unreliable plastic one.
The important thing is to prevent it from failure in the first place. People have had the plastic one blow out and lose all their coolant leaving them stuck and needing a tow.

Kinda surprised there hasn't been more said about this here? But I just heard that for a limited time these all aluminum thermostat housing are available on Amazon dot com for $149.00. (Normally $179.00 on eBay).

Just passing on the news.
