Bullpucky. Where exactly do you get $3500-3750 Whipples from? Aside from the rare used one that may or may not be beat to death.

And compared to the GT500 blower the Whipple will always run hotter, and will make less average power.

You throw these statements out there and as far as I can tell you have no basis in fact. Have you owned, worked on, lived with all of these different setups? Or are you parroting marketing/advertising/what you read on the internet?

I have worked on, lived with, tested or paid for all of these combo’s. Reality and word on the street are not even close to the same.

Your advice is untrue and misleading. :nono:

The Whipple intercooled 2.3L Twin Screw supercharger kit. $6800. How is that even close to a DOB kit at $3500-4000?
Whipple 05-2010 Mustang GT W140ax Intercooled HO 550hp Kit (Black) - Complete Kits - Intercooled - Whipple - Superchargers - 05-09 Mustang GT

The IAT sensor still needs to be relocated to the manifold (not part of the kit).

It runs hotter under normal driving conditions than a roots improved or TVS style blower.

If the target is 450rwhp it will not do it better than the other options. They all make 450hp with ease.

The throttle body and CAI are smaller on the Whipple compared to the DOB setup which causes the owner to spin the Whipple faster (or buy bigger inlet side parts) which creates even more heat.

The Whipple is harder to work on than the DOB setup.

If the OP wants a complete kit I suggest the Roush TVS. Much better "every day" blower than the Whipple.

He won't even respond, he just trolls and responds garbage with no information to back anything up. And with all the other out right wrong 05+ mustang answers he posts, he should stick to cars he actually owns.

Even used supercharger kits, go for good money. Every sap thinks they can get all their money back out of their used kit, if they spend 7k total installed they want 6k back out of it no installation.

The real bonus of building the kit yourself is you can purchase your parts in steps and never need 4k plus in your hand at one time. You could build your kit over a few months.

And you get to chose the parts you want! Want an upgraded heat exchanger? Spend the money on the afco exchanger without wasting money on the gt500 stocker first. Don't want to spend on gt500 fuel pumps , get a boost a pump instead. The list is endless.:bigthumbsup

There's a parts list over on the DOB forums I believe....there's also a user who was selling fairly complete "kits" - meaning - he gets everything together for you that you'll need, minus some small stuff I believe.

There is only one "set-up" for adapting the GT500 blower to the 4.6 engine that I know of . . . sqidd is the man and DOB forum is the place for more info

Department of Boost Forums

Like Joe said, there is a suggested parts list over there ; also a installation manual was added recently
