Just got back from buying a pair of barely used 09 GT Mufflers for 20.00! Best of it was the guy lives a few blocks down the street from me! I plan on installing one for now on my 2007 sixer and the other once I get true duals done. Keep your eye out on craigs list you can find goood deals!

I was debating starting a thread about craigslist. There are some nice deals to be had on 05-10 Mustang stuff right now. Saw a set of GT 500 rims on Pirelli tires (which looked brand new) going for $500. Also a set of the same ones I have (dont know what they're called:head_shot: ) also with Pirelli tires going for $300. Cant beat that.

I also saw a nice driveshaft going for $500. If I can get it for $300 or $350 I'm grabbin it:bigthumbsup

Great deal BTW! $20 bucks. That's less than the cost of 2 beers downtown:bigthumbsup

I think the stock GT mufflers sound incredible.... for a stock muffler. I wish they were a tad deeper/louder at idle and at WOT, cruising around at normal speeds they rock. Hope you like em. Good buy.

I just paid $40 for the pair, but then again I had to drive over 600km to get them. Nice deal on the $20:bigthumbsup
Yea GT takeoffs sound really good. I would say they sound very pure. There of course is other louder exhausts...
$20 is a great deal. I bought mine on eBay for $51 shipped from GLP last year. Even one makes a nice difference. It's been a while since I've checked on cragslist for parts, but I haven't found a whole lot of good deals on there around my area
I'm very happy with the results. It has a very nice deep sound but not to loud that'll it wake the whole block up in the morning. Had success with the install this being my first time doing this it went well!

My only concern is it has a slight burning smell. A mechanic friend says it's not abnormal but if it persist it'll need to be looked at.

It's a really nice sound but nowhere near loud. I had a slight burning smell for a day or 2. I think it was stuff burning up in the muffler as I had to pull some leaves out before I put it on. It should go away

Good Deal on them:bigthumbsup I Love the sound of the GT Mufflers, there everything I was looking for in sound, wait untill you get em both on when you go Duals.
Mine had the Burning Smell when I Installed mine but they had less than 5 miles on em, the smell from mine was just the Newness being burned out of them, probably Oil or whatever they put in them so they dont Rust when new (My quess anyway) I always notice the Burning Smell when I install a New Exhaust and some times a little smoke too, just normal.
Enjoy:bigthumbsup

lots of good GT takeoff parts out there. I put on a set of GT front brakes. New Rotors and caliper extensions(less than 100 miles new). But then again I had 17' rims. They are a direct replacement. Same calipers just need the extension.

I love my GT mufflers, they do get better with age.
The reason I like this car so much is that its so easy to work on and parts are so cheap, not just for repairs but for upgraded repairs. I replaced my worn-out suspension with a brand new GT take-off and the results were phenomenal. :bigthumbsup
very nice. and if you like it now, you`ll love it in stereo :bigthumbsup like mr j said, they get sounding better in time too.
I had the Flowmaster axleback and I hated it, it sounded like rice. I bought the GT takeoffs for $35 bucks on ebay. Sounds waaaay better. So cheap I just tossed the left one in the dumpster.
Excellent purchase and way better sound! I purchased a set off this forum for $30 plus shipping ... thought I got a good deal but you cant beat $20.

I dropped in my local dealer and they put my single on in 20 minutes for $20 cash. Then everyone stood around and complimented the sound. Second best mod I've done ... next to CAI/Tunes. Rumble on!

I got mine off of Craig's List for $30, also lightly used. I thought I was the king of this :(
I have a potential deal on a 2011 set from a 5.0 GT. Is it compatible with my 05?
you definitely got a great deal dude! nice job searching on craigslist haha... but i have magnaflow dual exhaust and they are alot louder, but they also cost me about 600 bucks... so the route you took is definitely really good and i hope the dual exhaust comes out good for you :bigthumbsup
