GT Vs. Mach 1

Just curious as to how you guys think my 05 GT w/auto and bone stock would do against a buddies 04 Mach 1 w/ manual and bone stock as well. I think the mach one was spec'ed at 305 hp but I am unsure of the torque?

If we can ever get together im sure that we will find out :evillol: but that seems to be a while away.

I know I'm quoting here but, isn't the Mach 1 something like 0-60 in 5.6 and 14 in the 1/4?

Sounds like the '05 might just edge it out(barring driver experience of course).
It's going to really come down to the drivers. You've got a slight advantage with and auto (elminating most of the chance of driver error). For power, he's probably got you edged out.

I ran my buddy stock-for-stock, both manual cars, we ran really close but he started edging me out at the top of 2nd gear/bottom of 3rd gear. The Mach's pull hard all the way to 7K rpm.
Thanks for the input guys. I drove his car a while back and remember being real impressed with its power but since it was a while ago its hard to compare.

Mach 1 , a 14 sec car , maybe on a very hot day ,with a full tank of gas, and a bad driver !

I agree, bone stock (with no tuning) the new 05 stang (especialy an auto) would get "edged out" by a Mach 1. Its almost pointless to compare times from different tracks that have different elevations and air temperature. We need a 05/Mach 1 shootout for it to be fair. BTW my money is on the Mach 1 everytime. Now I'm not doggin' the 05, but stock tuning is for fuel economy not balls to the wall drag racing. Check this:http://car-stats.com/stats/showstats/showstatsgivenid.aspx 03 Mach 1 0-60 5.3 seconds, 1/4 mile 13.8 @103

Yea, the Mach 1 is one bad mofo. My dream car is a Competion Orange mach 1, everyone would break there neck watching me rumble down the road.....
the White Mach 1 is my favorite, Black a close second !
I am adding nothing to this conversation, other than I love the blue Mach1. It's kind of a pale pastel blue. Sweet ride.
