I installed a gt40 tubular intake on my 89 lx and got a very high pitch sound coming from the intake. I thought it was a vacumm leak so I removed the intake and applied some gasket sealant on both sides of the gasket, reinstalled everything , started up the car and BAM there it was again.
The high pitch sound comes in at around 1000rpm and goes away at higher rpm's or when it idels at 800rpm's it's fine.
But it sounds like it's coming from inside the intake.
There are three unused vacumm connections, I capped one off and the other two I connected a hose to each other. everything else is connected to where it should be.
The gt40 tubular that I have is the one that has two vacumm tubes on the bottom.
Any help would be appreciated.

are you sure its not the throttle body? here is a link to fix that if you decide it might be that.

I had seen this thread some time back and did this to the IAC passages on my T/B
But the noise is coming from the intake itself.

BBK TB have that issue but they usually get worse at higher rpm spray tb cleaner around teh intake see if your rpms raise if so thats the spot with a leak.
