Hello! I was just offered a 2005 Mustang Shelby Gt500 clone with a Whipple supercharger making 550rwhp for my 2010 Camaro SS, the car looks to be built right but I'm not sold on the deal yet because it's a clone. It has 75000 miles and I have no real idea what it'd be valued at in the current market or if it's worth it, the Camaro was about to have a procharger and cam installed (just waiting on the fuel system to come in) and was shooting for 700rwhp, it's at 110000 miles.

yeah, like he said . . . what you really have there, is an 05 GT with a supercharger, fake GT500 badges don't add any value . . . check values for regular 05 GT with like mileage and condition, and think about maybe a small premium for the supercharger and other mods

and used car prices are a moving target these days, the market is crazy

The same way I would look at that car. But I don't think its value should ever come close to that of the GT500. Extra research might go a long way. And I don't mind walking away if the deal doesn't feel right 😅

A clone is a clone. It`s not the real thing & should/will be valued as such. Personally, "I" would not want it. YMMV

If it's built right, it'll be worth a little more than a stock '05 GT of similar mileage and condition. Ask the owner of he has receipts for all the work done and the parts used, and ALWAYS take the car for a test drive.

Worth a little more to who though? The seller for sure, but I’m not so sure about to an insurance company. Progressive has never asked if I had a supercharger or not.

I don't know about you; but I don't usually ask my insurance company to make my car purchase price decisions, LOL ;)

I would say worth a 05 GT with 75,000 miles + a little for mods. If the body kit does anything for you take that into minor consideration, but I would be thinking along the lines of in this crazy high inflated market a value of around 15K... I get to 15K by saying car 11K and 4K for all the mods including body. A real 07-09 GT500 would pre covid market with 75K miles cost around low to mid 20's, but now today fetch around 30's. A GT500 clone would be worth half that...

An insurance company will give it the same valuation as a stock '05 GT and nail you with a higher premium because the car is supercharged.
