Its been a month since i bought my mustang 2011 v6 and im loving it. But im planning on changing my stock exhaust. I just want a deep sound with no drone and no popping. Is it possible to get that kind of sound with GT500 axleback exhaust? i know that it needs to be welded to fit my muffler tubes. Is it worth it? my budget is no more than 350$. I also have the Airaid cai.

In short, no. The V6 has such different head geometry, cam profile, etc. it would be just a waste of $. What I would recommend, and I must also say that the V6's have a very, very different tone as compared to the V8, is to visit a good, real, muffler shop, have them drop the oem mufflers and with you sitting in the car with the engine running, hold up different sizes of Allied resonators. They flow as well as any race spec muffler, Allied has been around for 30+ years and the resonators are available nationwide for about $40 each.....and no, they don't drone. You can play with different diameters, lengths to get the tone you want....and if you don't like the tone, no harm, no foul...back to oem units.

5.0 mufflers area a good cheap bolt on. I got a set off of a 2013 for $75. Had them put on for about $75. They sound deeper than stock, with out being to loud. I mixed them with a cat back 2.5 in exhaust with an x-pipe, and the tone is really cool sounding and there was a good pick up on the low end..

I would lovethe magnaflow quad tip black exhaust but i dont want to buy exhaust adapters from my stock size to fit to the bigger diameter of the pipe and kill my backpressure while im n/a. i also like how my exhaust isnt all that loud the gt500 exhaust is 4inch quad tips. i feel it may be loud. only way id drop thay money on this mod and i more or less consider it an asthetic than a mod since it looks different and you change the valance is if i was procharged and not n/a which i may do one of these days i think it looks bad ass and ive honestly scene and heard a v6 with it before amd it wasnt all that loud but the guy wasnt on it. like i said it looks nice but costs money
if i did it id go with either of these

I am a fan of my stock exhaust though it is almost perfect stock imo and now that im reading it those are out of the price range on your budget, if your modding your car i recomend buying headers and maybe a x pipe rather than changing the stock exhaust. in socal california the stock exhaust really helps make the cops look away from your car rather tham pull you over for exhaust which is probably rare on a mustang. since all the jap cars roll around with obnoxious exhausts im careful but id only change the stock for quad tips. it womt make it sound like a gt500 or a v8 just a different more agressive exhaust note

You had better watch for the popping, the 3.7 does pop with the stock exhaust but you just don't notice it until you make it louder.
Short tube headers will deepen the exhaust note, if you go to my Youtube link you can hear the before and after with the Stock Manual Mufflers.

I've got the 5.0 GT500 style ABs you're talking about on my 3.7. They sound really good with no drone. You don't really get much of a chance to hear your car as others do but people say they like them and when it's idling and I'm out of the car, they sound real good to me. Depending on your shifting, they pop. I didn't want anything that popped either but it's something you get to like pretty quickly. Cost me $70 to have them modified and installed. I had to shop until I found a "real" muffler shop though.
