GT500 Supercharger, 4.0L?

4698 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  hmartine
I read a post a while back asking if there was anyway a custom intake could be fabricated to fit a GT500 Stock supercharger on a 4.0L V6 mustang. My uncle just bought a supersnake package and he now has his supercharger up for grabs 100$ if i want it. Sooooo with that in mind is there anyway, anyone out there who has made this work?

I asked this same question a while back and I was told No. The supercharger is built for the big 5.4 liter V8 and our little 4.0 will not be able to handle it and it just wouldnt be able to go together. It could be custom fabricated but would take A LOT of money and you might as well just buy a supercharger made for the 4.0.

Here's my thread

It could work if someone made an intake manifold that will attach the blower to the cylinder heads. But I know of noone who has made such a manifold yet. A memeber on this forum was thinking of doing it but I have not heard anymore of it.
Im kinda surprised that a company has not done this since there are a nice number of takeoff GT500 and Terminator blowers for sale.

One guy on Mustang Collective did it, but it took a bunch of custom fabrication and tuning.

Basically, if you have to ask how to do it, you shouldn't be doing it.

Unless you are a total gearhead, machinist, welder, and engineer all rolled into one, it would cost you way more than just buying a ready made kit.

im working with a manufacturer that has developed just that - installing a M112 on the 4.0L mustang. the plans are to just offer the intake manifold adapter only - you fabricate everything else. Interested? PM for more info. Im planning to put the kits on line at VELOZ PERFORMANCE very soon...
