I am looking to get a better tire for the rear of my 2012 gt500. I'm totally stock and have no traction. I'm guessing I'll wear out the f1 tires on it first but will be looking. Will a 305/35/19 fit? I was looking at the mt DR'S at summit and they are that size. I ran mt's on my fox and they don't last long either. Any in between. Plus im doing the ever popular tune, pulley etc to bring the hp up. Any help appreciated.:bigthumbsup

I put Nitto 555s on my Shelby and I love them. The stock goodyears are terrible. They were done after 10k miles on mu car and they were like driving on ice the whole time. A lot of people have put on Michelin PS2s and they're great but wear out fast and are expensive. I recommend asking some guys on fordgt500.com if you want some more opinions. There aren't a lot of us gt500 guys on this forum.

The stock GYs are downright scary on wet roads.

I agree with forty five. PS2's are a great tire but wear out to quickly and if you have a staggered set up (which I do) you can't rotate them and they wear faster. My next tires will be Nitto's

Probably 305. You might be able to cram 315s. Not sure.

305s are the widest I've heard of on a stock rim and that is already pushing it.

You say pushing it you think they may rub? I do not want any crazy issues for I have too much money in this car to screw things up. Ordered the brenspeed 750 HP TVS 2300 and tune pulley package and AFCO heat exchanger over black friday I will be driving the car there to have it all installed. They had a half price install if you purchased over black friday. What a deal! Cant wait to get it done

I don't know for sure because I just have 285s on mine, but when you go big on the factory wheel I think they bulge out because the wheel is really too skinny for a big tire. I think they also stick out.

Going with continental DW 295/35/18.
