Ok, Part 1 of the questioning, assuming the 2011 Mustang used was full bolt-ons running mid 10s, what (other than the supercharger) would he have needed? Just suspension parts right? I think I've seen said year go that fast with just those on and street tires.

Now part 2, for a 2004 Subie, what would have been needed to run a 9.98 at 141.05 mph in a 1/4mi (and for the people who don'tknow the movie, he uses nitrous the whole race but is that enough? I doubt it)? What power is this thing producing to go that fast? Based off of itsjusta6's YouTube, he has a stock block Coyote producing over 800hp to go that fast. So that means the 2.5l Subie musta been cranking something close to that... but I find it hard to believe a stock 4-banger with bolt-ons could even keep up...

Forgot to add, I think that the Mustang blew it's engine cause it is the 1st gen Coyote with the cylinder issue it had... but I think the movie people didn't know that and it is assumed something else is what blew, but since we all know about it, we can believe the Mustang woulda won šŸ˜›

This is what's called "poetic license". The movie media doesn't usually use common sense while making a movie. Please don't confuse them with the facts, they've already made the final cut on the movie.

You need a little fiction to make it happen. Movies aren't real, they are stories to entertain you. There is nothing to prevent the car from doing a 1/4 mile in 1/10000 of a second if it was scripted that way. In fact it could reach the finish line before it left the starting area if they wanted to. With a few gigawatts of energy it could go back in time. :)

According to IMDB:
Born to race was written in 2002 so the 2011 car didn't even exist but the story did. It was originally called "Racer High". At the end of the final race when Jake loses control of his car, just as it switches to the view from the front before the car launches into the air, you can see that Jake's 2011 Mustang GT has turned into a 2005-2009 V6 Mustang with the same body treatments.

Also when Kreuger is working on his car the night after racing from the party, his father does something to an engine and starts the car. He tries to start his car and nothing happens, but his car is standard, so he would need to press the clutch in while turning the key.

Well, yeah, I knew most of that... good eye (or research) on the car changes and clutch, didn't realize that until now... but irl if it were possible, a 4banger vs a SC 5oooooooh, what would be needed in the Subie to beat it? Maybe they lied about it being a 4 cylinder? Never got a good look...

LOL
What would be needed is a suspension of disbelief to just enjoy the movie.
Don't try to duplicate what movies show, that how idiots die.

So, from the video, it is possible...

Youtube videos are as easy to fake as any movie. Just so you know.
There is an old saying, Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see (in person)
I wouldn't believe anything I see on film or video.

If you insist on believing it, ask the person that claims it happened.

You're one of those conspiracy nuts aren't you? If you can't trust anyone you'll never get ahead in life... the videos I usually watch would be hard to fake...
