So I've seen a couple of nice looking mustangs in the past few two days. Yesterday I saw a matte black 05-09? mustang that was partially blacked out. All in all it looked pretty nice, although I don't know if I'm a fan of the matte black. Then I saw a very nice looking white mustang, it was plain but something about it looked well kept and clean.
Then today I was driving to the gym and I saw a completely blacked out mustang on the other side of the road. I've seen it once before, but never in close close distance. I wish I could have gotten a picture. The taillights were completely black, along with all the side markers black too, dark tinted windows, black wheels, black grille, and a ram air hood. It looked VERY nice, just wish I knew the person who owned it. If I see them again, I'll try to get a picture.

I gotta admit having a black mustang opens a lot of doors for custom exterior mods. For example, I have two front grilles on my pony that both have black mesh grilles. My headlights and taillights are blacked out and so are my turn signals all around. I also have the faux gas cap painted black except for the tri-bar. Even having the rear window louvers black adds to the look. Once I get my black nurburgring the only thing that wont be black is the white stripes which i might swop for matte black ones if I can find em.

IMO having a black car is the best except when its dirty. White is my second choice because it hides the dust and pollen.

Hopefully you can get ahold of that black stang and go cruising with him!
I once saw a matte blue 05-09 GT. I feel the same way about matte paint as I do about tatoos. They are cool looking.... on someone else.

Honestly though, I've never been a fan of the black on black on black. Especially the black wheels:nono: At night it looks like there are no rims. And IMO black cars in general suck because they are so hard to keep clean.

I want to paint my faux gas cap black but I haven't gotten around to doing it. I'm assuming you painted it yourself, if so where'd you buy the paint and what kind of paint did you buy. I'd keep the white stripes though maybe, my friend has a black stang and swapped from white stripes to the matte black stripes and while it looked good, I liked the white better. But hey some all black look pretty good for instance the one I saw today.

I'd like to have a black mustang in the future, might have to wash my car more frequently though :shigrin

Lol yeah me too. I don't think he lives in my town though because I've never seen it. Maybe he's visiting for the weekend and I'll get a pic:bigthumbsup

I'm not sure how matte blue would look... but yeah that's kinda how I feel lol.

I like the black wheels though, it looks clean. But yeah that's the only negative part to black cars. I like your white stang:bigthumbsup

Unfortunetally I did not paint it myself. When I got into my car crash (a grand away from totalling my car) I asked the shop I go through to paint it and the owned did it for free since im good friends with his son. I wish I could help, but all I know is that they had to use some special paint to go over the chrome. Really wish I could be more help

I really love my white stripes. Its iconic for mustangs ya know? But for the look im going for it doesn't really fit. But i'll keep em for a few more years i think.

As for having black, when I wash my car, bout once a week, I spend more time drying it then actually washing it. My biggest pet peeve is the water spots I get. I run around my car bout twenty times it seems looking for water drops. Its rough. But I gotta admit the first time I take it out after i clean it, I can't help but look at it and go "DAMMMMM" and its MY CAR! I feel like that tony stewart commercial where he washes his car and stops at the gas station then just stares at his car and people ask him for autographs and a girl is kissing him and stuff. Black is awesome but needy!

Ah it's okay, I've talked to someone who's done it before. They used plastic paint. Just was curious.

Yeah it is iconic lol. Yeah I understand, my black rocker stripes don't really fit me, but they look nice and are kinda iconic ;)

I hate getting water spots on mine, and it's not even black :nogrinner
Haha I love that feeling of thinking man that's my car especially when it's shiny and squeaky clean. :bigthumbsup

You're not lieing about being hard to keep clean. It's even worse when you live down a dirt road in the middle of a heat wave; every time I drive up the road and stop at the highway a cloud of dust rolls over me :(

...but on the plus side, it looks great for a couple days after I wash and wax it :D
I think black is the nicest color for a mustang. This is my 3rd black one. It looks awsome waxed up at night on a main (city type) road filled with street lights.
Black is the nicest color, when it's clean...

I spend probably an hour a day cleaning my 'stang. :kooky: Since it's black I take extra super care of it. I never drive it when it's raining or the roads or wet and I always garage it...

Speaking of matte, I'm getting mine wrapped in matte black sometime in the very near future, along with a GT500 hood. I think it'll look pretty cool. It'll be a one of a kind too, I've never seen a matte mustang before in person. :bigthumbsup

The best part about matte paint is you don't have to worry about swirl marks, clear coat scratches, or any other little imperfections like that. <- I spend a lot of time worrying about those. But I've heard about matte blue before... I'm not a big fan either. You'll be surprised when you see how many matte colors there are; red, orange, green, gold, silver, black, and white. Pretty crazy if you ask me

That's a matte black 5.0. Personally, I like the matte black look enough that I get it for my stang. But I'm also a fan of the white on black contrast. White stang, black rims, black spoiler, etc. Orrr I may even keep my sterling gray, and just try out a different contrast. ohhh, the choices.

Unfortunately, there aren't many stangs around my area...

Thanks. I personally think that white 5-9 mustangs are kind of plain looking without stripes though :(

Actually the matte blue looked amazing on that Mustang:yup:. It was a very unique shade of blue too.

And I also saw a matte white 350Z. It had the darkest black tint on the windows you can imagine, and he had black stripes on the top and the sides. This thing looked wicked. :yup: Not sure how the cops felt about that tint though?:hihi:
I've grown to like the grabber blue with black interior. Your welcome Lovemystang.haha. I don't see too many of them. I also like to see stripes on bright color stangs. You know, the classic Shelby look.

In Silver Spring?? You mean in your neighborhood or something? Lol

BTW - thanks for the pic of that matte black stang. I imagined that's what one would look like but now I know. Not my cup of tea but to each his or her own :yup:

Well, I'm sure there's plenty in Silver Spring. I just never see them! But yeah, I was talking more along the lines of either my neighborhood or the couple around me.

No problem! :bigthumbsup

That comment seems to be dripping wet with sarcasm:yup: )
I thought that... but I just ignored it :)
Not sarcastic at all...I honestly had never seen a picture of a car with a matte finish. Guess I've been under a rock??
I stand (or sit rather) corrected.

Never can tell with you Hubkap:). That's why you're always so much fun to read. :winks
