Hey all, I'm new to the forums and I wanted to reach out to the community here at AFM and get some feedback on a new product we released for Mustangs.

We recently launched our new handheld tuner inTune I-1000 for Mustangs 11-13 and I wanted to see if any one had picked on up or tried it. Anybody who has tried one post up here and let us know what you think. If you have not tried one, but you're wondering why you would use ours instead of another brand, ask any questions you may have and I'll answer them as best as I can.

Here's some information on the new inTune that I think will help you see what this product is about! inTune for 11+ Mustangs

  • $389 Price
  • Color Touch Screen
  • 1 Unit supports 98-13 Mustangs (unlimited ability to change from one vehicle to another when reloading original tune, NOT limited to 5 swaps)

:smartass:
I've seen a lot of misconception on DiabloSport products in different threads here and I wanted to dispell some of those to give people an idea what exactly DiabloSport products have to offer on Mustangs. Here's some things i see all the time that I thought I would shed some light on:

DiabloSport doesn't have custom tunes for my CAI Steeda/JLT/Air Raid
The inTune actually comes pre-loaded with custom tunes for cold air intakes right out of the box. We support Steeda, Air Raid, JLT and more with no custom tunes required. Also all the major custom tuners can create you tunes as well, so you can get your race/street/economy tunes too!

DiabloSport doesn't let me get custom tunes from the shop I bought it from
Most of the dealers out there tuning other brands also have DiabloSport's CMR Tuning software which lets them make custom tunes for any bolt-on you could put on the car. Very similar to other brands. We can load over 5 custom tunes on to a device, and the same loyalty tune you're getting from your dealer can be put on an inTune.

DiabloSports Tuners don't do what other brands do
Actually we do, and in a lot of cases we do more. For basic users, everything is pre-loaded with no need to custom tune. If you have a stock car and you want a great easy to install power adder, the inTune is awesome. If you've got a modified car and you need tunes for CAI/Headers/Exhaust etc... You can get custom tunes. Our programmers also offer a huge amount of adjustable parameters that will allow the educated user to make adjustments to their tune themselves. We actually offer more end user options than another brand you may know of.

You can't tune as well with DiabloSport's CMR as you can with another brand
Actually you can. Any tuner that knows what they are working on will tell you that the software they use to make the tunes is just a tool to get the job done- how good the tune you get is all depends on the tuner making the tune, not which brand they use to install the tune on your car.

Brand X Is just better
Any body who thinks this I would love to see your honest opinion as to why this is. DiabloSport has been tuning Mustangs since 2000 and we have a long history with this car, and a passion for it. I'd love to see your specific reason that another brand is better, and I'll address it, or if it's something we can work on at DiabloSport, we'll make some changes to get you what you need!

Thanks for reading, if there's anything that you would like to see DiabloSport do that your current programmers don't offer, post up here and we'll take a real close look at what you're asking for. We have a commitment to Mustang enthusiasts and want to make the best product we can that suits your needs.

Remember that the same things you were used to from the HEMI market are true for our products for Ford. Same inTune product works on the SRT8 and is known as the best. We did Mustangs waaaay before we did the HEMI, and before SCT as well :winks

No haha, it does look like the iPhone in the picture, but in your hand it's small and very light weight. It's probably about 2/3 size of an iPhone.

remember very well, back in 2010 there were only a handful of tuners that were able to dyno custom tunes the vvt 5.7s..diablosport being the only one for a few years. The SRT8s 6.1 litres werent so bad due to the absence of variable valve timing. Please post more info you might have, and from customers with the 2013 mustang gt, thanks

I just traded my Charger RT in on a '13 3.7 Mustang premium. Love the car.

Anyway, I reloaded my stock tune into the Charger beforehand to unlock it. The next day I ran an update. Haven't tried the tune yet. Might wait a few more miles. At 400 already.

I have tuned myself before with the other brands racer package and, at least for dodge, it left a great deal to be desired but their was NO other option besides canned tunes. I really appreciate the inTune ability to make some small adjustments to spark, fuel, shift points, firmness, tire/gear changes quickly and hope the mustang responds like the charger did. I liked the throttle boost feature also. It made the car more like a cable actuated throttle body.

Oh, do I need a cooler thermostat here also? then adjust fan temps accordingly...

I would be curious how Diablo did on the the new Mustangs. I had one on my Dodge Magnum R/T and I will say it was a great product. Diablo had the Hemi market cornered.

I'm on vacation in Lake Worth FL right now. Mustang isn't with me but I'm willing to come over to Delray and pick up a sample and report the findings back here on the forums. :bigthumbsup

That's the beauty of the inTune is that not only do you have your pre-loaded performance tunes, but you can modify them yourself on the handheld without a custom tune.

The Mustangs stock thermostat is really good, there's not a whole lot of need to swap it out unless it's a necessity. You can use the inTune to lower the fan on temp to pick up some more power without the after market thermo.

As I've mentioned before, the inTune will perform just as good on a Mustang as it did on your Dodge products. We've been tuning Mustangs far longer than we ever did the Dodge applications. Our calibrations are tried and true just like your other vehicle.

I ran a Diablosport tuner on both my 07 GT's. I had no need for any "custom" tuning, just had some bolt ons with a C&L racer, offroad x pipe pypes mid muffler. The car responded SO well with just the tuner, before I put everything else on. I went with SCT for my 11 GT because the support is out there for it. Your mail order tuners atleast don't advertise as tuning for Diablosport.

The Diablosport tuner was the best mod I did on my 07 GT's.

I could do that with the inTune on my Charger RT. Probably so on the Mustang also I would guess. I hope so anyway. You could adjust some parameters of the stock tune.

I never did get around to using the datalog feature. Would be nice, since the '13 has a factory wideband...if that could be one of the data points if it isn't already. That way I could see a/f, rpm, ignition advance, IAT, and manifold pressure all in the same place. Dan, is this possible with the '13 since it has the wideband already?

Like Intense said, if you just want to adjust your shifting you can use the "factory HP Tune" as it's called. It has just your stock program with you able to make adjustments to it.

As far as throttle response, you'd want to use our Performance Tune for 87 or 93 octane because that's where we have pre-mapped all of the throttle response settings.

Unlike the MOPAR applications, throttle on Fords (ETC) can be tricky to adjust yourself. It's more than a simple parameter table like we have on the Dodges.

With the Trinity, you can actually monitor and record your factory wide bands, so you get A/F on screen, you can program a shift light with the LEDs etc.. it's a pretty awesome unit for the new Mustangs.

I'm updated to 1r01i. Tried to load a tune and it says the vehicle is not supported.

My Mustang is a '13 Premium, auto, 2.73 geared car with track apps of course.

Current update is 1r02B, you need to update more :winks

If you've run all the updates, send me a copy of your info.xml from the inTune drive that comes up on your computer.

You're probably 1/2 way through the update. inTunes on versions earlier than 1r01i require a couple steps to get done. Post 1r01i we released a ton of new stuff.

I suspected that might be the case so I tried to update again an it came back with the inTune is up to date. Here's the XML file...

Edit: Actually intense can you post up the info.xml file as the file itself here and give me the CAL ID number from the car?

Have you tried to install since that 2nd update completed?

Tried. Says invalid file when I tried to attach it. Better way to do this?

Yeah, I ran update until it said "up to date" then tried to load the tune in the car. Cal ID? Will that show on the screen. I don't think I've seen that.

On the inTune the CAL ID will be in settings/tool info/ vehicle info.
Ok. Going back out to car to get that for you.
