Short tubes won't give you much of a performance boost. Better to spend the money elsewhere unless you just like the look of the headers.

Long tubes will net you ~15-18rwhp while the BBK shorties will only net you 4-6rwhp. When you consider that the installation cost of either will be about the same ($400-600 unless you DIY), it makes more sense to go with long tubes unless you want to preserve the stock H-pipe.

Do you plan to go FI?

If yes, maybe consider 1-3/4. If no, stick with 1-5/8.

Go with 304 stainless...if you're really worried about heat you can get a ceramic coating or heat wrapped....mixed reviews on that.

The only ones I even considered when I looked at headers were kooks, american racing headers and JBA.

I would suggest Kooks , ARH , or JBA. I installed the JBA and they fit like a glove, they slid right in and bolted up with no problems whatsoever. Nice thing is they are nice and tight to the underside so when I lower it they won't scrape on anything. Did it myself on the ground without any help and took me about 6 hrs.

Kooks, from what I remember reading, is more of a mid-length header and not a true LT. You can google search and find a ton of information on headers that will be helpful in making a decision.
im leaning towards the BBK long tubes and catted xpipe
I got a Mac full exhaust. The mid pipe (pro-chamber) can be a little expensive. Also, I had to splice in some pypes cats.
MAC is the best bang for your buck, American Muscle sells them for around $400 and if you know a good exhaust shop they could always fabricate you a custom x or H pipe with cats? just my 0.2
I got pypes. Kooks had the biggest gains in an article I read, and pypes are a direct knockoff. No fitment issues. On for 3 years now, no leaks. Got mine from brenspeed with an offroad H during a black friday deal for 500. Expect it to be more $$ with cats though.
BBK Shorty header sound.

I am also looking at the BBK Tuned Shorty Headers to match up with a Pypes Offroad H Pipe and Basani Axle Backs.
I am looking for more Sound quality over the Stock Manifolds. What are your thoughts on this?
I would highly recommend Pacesetter's headers and Catted H pipe. I got the ARMOR coated ones but they're already rusting after one winter, so I'd get the bare metal ones and save the money. They're cheap but they get the job done and the install was pretty easy. Everything fit together well.
