I am new here, and I am stumped on why my Mustang wont crank.
I get OBD code 522 "car not in park or neutral when tested."
I have replaced the NSS and the starter relay with no effect. I can turn on the key and jump the selinoid to start it.
Bought the car 6 years ago. Had to replace the A4LD in when I did.
since then have replaced the following with Lifetime Replacement Guarenteed..
starter
ignition modual
coil packs
alternator
TPS
rotors
drums.

Ok at the NSS switch try hitting the key to start and use a test lamp to see if you get battery at that point. Does the test light light when keyed??? if not probe the other wire their are two of them plus the reverse light wires. normally the starter wires are the thicker of the two. If you have battery passing through the NSS switch that means their is an open wire to the starter solenoid. If you do not get battery on either of the crank leads at the NSS. The ignition switch is bad or the wiring is messed up. Good luck and peace Tom

well, installed a new ignition switch.....nothing.
have tested all the fusable links I can find and all tested good.

back to square one, any ideas?

Did you follow Tom's suggestions? He's pretty much drawn you a map.

You've got to follow the voltage to determine where the interruption is.
