My girlfreind just got a Dark Shadow Grey 03 v6 auto with 57,xxx miles on it. Im going to be doing all the fixing, modding, and maintenance on it so i consider myself a half sixer owner now lol. I'm familiar with pretty much all years of mustangs but any specific problems or things to look out for with the 3.8L? The only mods i plan on doing to the motor itself is probably an intake or K&N filter (she dosnt need anything fast just a healthy running car). Its mostly going to be exterior stuff like wheels, mach 1 chin spoiler and grill delete and so on :bigthumbsup

I can here a very very small exhaust leak so ill have to check the manifold out sometime. And that's right on with the cam synchronizer, her sisters car is at around 112,000 miles and just had to get that replaced a couple months ago. And it seems like the older guy she got it from kept up on the oil changes and maintenance so it should last pretty long :bigthumbsupPassenger side manifold sometimes cracks right in front of collector due to the A/C dripping on it
Somewhere around 100K-120K miles the cam position synchronizer will start locking up and give you trouble and eventually quit working altogether
Thats some of the common stuff, not much really happens if you keep up with matinence on these cars, they are good motors really, good luck with her (the car lol)![]()

Yea shes always liked them, iv been pushing her to get a 99-04 v6 or gt because i plan on getting an 03-04 Cobra in a year or two. Now we can match when i get it
