Hi everybody! I have joined this website because of my recent purchase of an all original 1995 Mustang GT with 126,xxx original miles. I'm having a problem with this car that I do not understand. First let me say this is my first Ford, as I've had Chevrolets up untill now.

The problem is this car will shut off, all by itself while driving down the road, or idling, then will not restart. It's as if a ghost just hit a kill switch or turned it off. Sometimes it will start right back up, other times it has no spark at all. I have been disconnecting the battery, waiting for about 15 minutes, hooking it back up and then the car will usually start. Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the engine computer, or the pickup inside the distributor? I need the help of those of you who know these 5.0's in and out! Thanks!

yeah, the ECU or if it has the optional security system it might be failing...had something similar happen to my M45, it was the ECU
You might pull the ECU and check the connection to the wiring harness, if it's corroded clean it...the ECU is located beneath the passenger kick panel on the right...good luck
