HELP 1991 5.0 wont start after filling up at gas station

1991 5.0 automatic
Was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem. I filled up at my normal gas station and then my car wouldnt start. It turns over but was like there was no spark igniting the fuel. Had a friend look at it, but unresolved. He thought it was my fuel pump, so we replaced it after emptying the full tank...it wasnt the fuel pump. Here is some additional info after he looked further into it:
Getting spark to spark plug wires. When he squirted carb cleaner into throttle body, car fires up and stays running until it burns through the cleaner (bypassing injectors). Fuel making it to the rails via the fuel pump. He says the injectors arent turning on (not functioning). I read a few other threads but nobody posted any resolutions. Some possibilities I found are the ignition module on side of the distributor or the ignition pickup...and least likely the computer itself.

Any help or suggestions are GREATLY APPRECIATED.

If you are getting spark, and it runs with the carb cleaner then it's not going to be ignition module. From what you are saying it really does sound like your computer took a dump. Had it been running weird at all prior to this happening?
No, it was running just fine prior. Nothing abnormal at all that I noticed. Was on my way to work, filled up prior to leaving town, then it just wouldnt start.
Is there a way to test the computer to confirm if its working or not? If in fact my computer took a dump, what is the least expensive way to replace it, pick-n-pull?
If its the computer you should get codes to point you in that direction. No way to just test the computer that i know of but i could be wrong. Only thing i can think of other than checking the engine codes is if you know someone with a mustang like yours you can plug thier computer in and see what happens. You said you already replaced the pump, make sure everything is connected right. Do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key to on? Could also be fuel filter completely clogged, regulator bad.

The computer does not have a code for itself. It will just keep kicking out codes for other things.
It's probably the fuel cutoff switch that is tripped.

It stops the fuel pump in a collision. Between the carpet and the tail lights a little to the left of the license plate. A little red ball acts as the button. Push it back in to reset it.

Have you measured the fuel pressure at the rails?
In a fox, you should be able to hear the pump when you turn the key on. If its running, check the pressure.

Guys, does the ignition module control the injectors? I'm not sure on that. I know it does on some GMs.
Fuel filter already replaced. Fuel making it all the way to the rails. Appears to be the injectors or something not telling the injectors to turn on/operate. Im gonna try a few things later today. Really appreciate everyone's assistance.
If your handy w/ a volt/ohm meter,I believe the injectors receive the positive signal from the ccrm and the pulse negative signal from the PCM.I'd check to make sure the positive voltage is at all injectors with key in on position.Somebody correct me if this is inaccurate.

I just finished following that step I found here: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...jected-mustangs-crank-no-start-checklist.html
The injectors are in fact getting the correct voltage. On another forum, it was suggested I next check the "pickup" inside the dizzy or the "module" which I believe in outside the dizzy.
Any other suggestions?

So---------you are now not getting spark to the plugs as you said you DID have in 1st posting?

I dont believe I said I dont have spark in any of my post's, forgive me if I did or if came across that way.
Yes, I have spark at the plugs. I was advised that the ICM controls the injectors and actually took it off to get tested at AutoAzone and it was in fact bad, so I replaced it but still no start. I'm going to replace the pickup coil inside the dizzy next and I guess last resort would be the ECM.

Just thought I's share the resolution:
Confirmed I had: fuel pressure (40lbs) to the rails, spark at the plugs, voltage to the injectors but they were not pulsing - confirmed by noid test light set.
I replaced the ICM (outside dizzy) as suggested after it tested bad at AutoZone - didnt resolve issue
I replaced the Pickup Module (inside dizzy) which also tested bad - didnt resolve issue
I replaced the ECM (computer) - RESOLVED! :bigthumbsup
