Hello Everyone,
I am brand new to this forum and in need of some help. I was given the following options for my 2004 Mustang 4.6 Liter and not sure which route I need to go. Please help me anyone...

1. Procharger Kit with Intercooler 5500.00 Unpolished Insall Included
Everyone tells me to stay away because all the shops do is fix leaks in the Prochargers and send them back. Kinda makes me wanna stay away, since I drive this ride everyday.

2. Vortech/Paxton Kit 4800.00 Polished Install Included
Shop has done plenty of installs with tapping into the oil line and they tell me its never a problem. It sounds wicked as I heard one in the shop on a 03 Stang. They are telling me I will get about 100-130 Horsepower additional.

What about a Kenne Belle?? 2.1??

Please help me, I dont know which way to go...........

each have their + and - 's I picked Mr Bell and never been happier...love that low end torque
While the one's you mentioned about Vortech, Procharger and Paxton though all great SC's they make great peak power being all centrifugals. The Kenne Bell on the other hand is a Twin-Screw which help make instant boost from down low. It's great for off the line performance and the boost stays consistent through out the rpm range but don't quite make peak power as the Centri's do. Both are excellent blowers but you have to decide on what you want, peak power or instant response?

Kenne Belle's peak hp is at peak rpms. You get power down low, and you keep making more power as the rpms climb (the curve does not go down). The curve is flatter because you make most of your power from the beginning.
The only "drawback" some people see from KBs is that it makes too much power down low and they can't hook up. But it is easily fixed with better tires (drag radials / slicks)!

Like ive said before, i love my KB. It added 180rwhp on a conservative tune. So much torque, and it really SCREAMS. The centri blowers are cool too, like forbra said they make their power in your upper rpm. If ya go with a centri, go vortec. Either way, ya will love it.
Kinda Worried about pile driving my oil pan for the Vortech, along with a Procharger is self contained with a 3 stage intercooler??
tapping the oil pan is super easy.......go turbo:bigthumbsup

Yeah, the KB makes great power and a lot of people do have trouble hooking up. Centri's will still make more peak power over the positive displacement blowers at the same psi. Most people like the PD SC's because they like the instant boost and the power curve is consistent.

Hi all,

If I want to install a KENNE BELL in my 2006 GT, is it necessary to change any other part than included in the kit?

Do you know if in the kit have all the required parts? (belt, and so on...)

The final result is acording with the amount I pay?

Regards

if you were to get the Vortech you could all ways get a front mount intercooler later right? and vortech has that new v-3 self contaned unit so you wouldnt have to tap the oil pan:bigthumbsup

I don't see why not, I usually hear people go with the Procharger intercooler system if they didn't get the Vortech one.

The KB kit should be fine and does not require any other parts unless you would like to raise the psi levels. Total cost might be around 6-8k depending on install costs with the kit. If you know people who can help you out then 6k might be the overall price assuming that you got hook ups on the install.

The kit for your car cost around 5500 i think, then add bout 800 to install, and another 500-550 for a dyno tune. I think you will njoy the KB, i think its worth the money. Id go ahead and upgrade to a 70mm throttle body, a cai and full exhaust. and to change the psi all ya have to do it change the pulley, but 10psi is all ya need. I think 11-12psi is pushing the bottom end.

you really cant go wrong with any kit.

Its all in the attention to detail in the install and the tune.

Ultimately its up to you and your budget and what you want to get out of it in the end.

For me it was between the KB and twins. I went the turbo (s) route which i will get more Hp and better fuel milage when my foot isnt in it.

Thanks for replies.

But I have others questions:

Is it save for the car? or Can I damage the engine?

I read in others forum that is not recomended pass over 8psi. You tell about 10 or 12... Is it true¿?

In the kit are the new adjust for the computer, or I will need to send my car computer (I don't know what's the technical name¿?) to KENNEBEL in order to reprogramme?

What about the maintenance?

As you can see. I have a lot off question....

Sorry for that..
