I need the end-all, beat-all thread sealer for my 289 heads.
I had the engine rebuilt and the ROCKER studs leaked after 200 miles.
I caught it before it mixed in the oil.

I seen what they used at the rebuild shop, permatex "thread sealant", it was pure white stuff.

It appears to have reacted to the antifreeze in the coolant and failed to hold the seal.

I have removed all the studs and cleaned and brushed them and chased all the holes with carb cleaner several times till the threads were clean.

Now before I torque these down, I need to know what works FOR REAL to seal these againts coolant, oil and gas.

Please help.

Call me ignorant but I never knew the Rocker studs were in a coolant passage, I know some of the head bolts and 2 waterpump bolts do.
I like Permatex brand Indian Head Shellac, it stands up to anything.
