HELP 5.0 merc capri 1986, doesnt start sometimes

I have a 86 Mercury Capri with a 5.0 engine it runs great. but sometimes it doesnt want to start. i recently bought it and as a project car and this problem has got me stumped.

1 of 5 times i try to start my car it will work. as soon as i start it, dies sometimes. but on occasion it will start fine and RUNSS hard. what happens is that it cranks over but it will die immedately(dies both in nutral and in gear, if car is moving makes no difference.). and sometimes i can force it to start by getting on the gas in gear but it lurch and jerk back and fourth which is very unconfortable <><><><> yea. and during this the car may stay running when i press the clutch down to stop the lurching or it may die again.



i can always get it to start and get somewhere but i look like a fool doing it with my car almost starting, and dieing all the time.

i have just changed the distrubuter cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs, cleaned throttle body and sensor.
