**HELP** door problems...

ok so here's my problem, i have been on another mustang forum recently, it's a local forum, and the site sponsor is a shop that has done incredible work for me every time i have gone there but recently i have been given the run around and nothing but problems... they give me awesome prices for work normally, my door hinges are worn out, and the bottom bushings aren't even there any more... my friend got drunk slammed my door and jammed it half closed, so i needed it fixed... went in there told them i was working with a budget, about 160 cad, they said it i cold do it for about 160-170 so i agreed to that... they got the door open and said it was too close to closing and charged me for 60$ only... so i said ok w/e i'll come back another time, power steering then blew, went back another 60$ and they didn't have time to do the door... ok come back a 3rd time, they had it for 4 hours, 4 hours!!!! i came back, they origionally told me btw that it would be about 2-3 hours... so anyways 4 hours with no car in the middle of nowhere... i go back, they tell me the door is too worn out and they have to weld it back together other wise the bushing just keeps falling through... they have to build up the hinge and then drill it out... it's going to be 50$ for the work they did that day, they told me the changed the top hinge pin and bushings but the bottom they couldn't do... in order for them to weld it up and fix it, it will be an additional 220$, keep in mind they quoted me 170 max and i have alreity payed 110, so from 170 to 330? what am i suposed to do?

i also have a quote from them of 170 for a new 6 piece headlight set, or a few bucks more for clear corners, i am not sure what to do because i have been getting prices of 300$ for seperate pieces and i do not know what to do about either, should i go in there and just pay them the extra money, should i ***** them out and tell them i either want my money back or i will pay them another 60 to fix it or what? cuz i also got the delema where the main mechanic is a friend's dad GAH, i just need some opinions on both... i also am curious as weither i should get the clear corners or amber corners

So, they charged you 60 to get the door open, 60 to fix the power steering, and 270 total to finish fixing the door? If you think the price is unfair or that they're making up more work to hike up the price, get another shop to look at it. If they're telling the truth about the hinge being beyond repair and needing welding then it makes sense that the price is higher than the quote, but you can get another shop to verify this.
I think the clear corner lights only look good on black cars, but it's your preference.

thanks for your input, what i am pissed about is that they quoted me 170, and told me they would get it done in 1 day, i have now been in there 4 times... for prices on the door they quoted me, like i said, 170 after i put in 110, they said it will be an additional 220 from what i have alreity put in, so it's going to be 330 total, now if i knew it was going to be that much, i would say screw it and deal with the door being broken i'm just choked that they boosted the price to double, after i had alreity paid them 110...

yeah my personal opinion on lights in general are altezas should only EVER be on silver, and even they are ugly... and clears on white cars... and smoked tails only on black or dark grey, i think sleekness looks best everything should be smooth and sleek, my other preferance is stockISH, if you go past it and not notice it till a few blocks later, that's what i like
I personally just got the clear set for my car. My car is teal, and the lights look great. It's really all relative to what your car looks like, not just the paint color. For instance, if you have silver wheels (insteal of chrome) the clear set goes great with your car.
thanks, do you have any pics of your car with the clears? take a look in my pics, i have the same rims on it as thoes pics
Well I just got them for Christmas, and I put them on just a few days ago, I'll get some pics then post them.
cool thanks
