Looking for some advice on some "under the hood" upgrades! My mustang is all stock under the hood. 3.9 V6 The only thing that is not stock is the 40 series flowmaster exaust. I was considering a few things here is what i was considering:

BBK Cold-Air Induction System $179.99 (Brothers Performance)
BBK 70MM Throttle Body $249.99 (Brothers Performance)
BBK Shorty Headers $259.99 (Brothers Performance)

Feel Free To make more sugestions if you like. :)

Unless your keyed in on the BBK brand: go with the CAI from american muscle (AM): Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
TB (throttle body) is not worth it until you have more airflow (turbo or other FI); headers also not worth it since we already have shorty headers -- only reason would be for engine dress-up or if you had an exhaust leak...
What kind of exhaust are you running? I'd suggest dual if you don't have it already. From there, it's time for gears & LSD (limited-slip differential, also called T-lok or traction-lock), a tuner, and clutch upgrade (for manual) or shift-kit (for auto). :bigthumbsup

+1 on everything he said. Get a AmericanMuscle or eBay CAI for $80 and skip the throttle body and headers.
Go with a T-Lok and 3.73 (for manual) or 4.10 (for automatic) gears. They are truely the best bang for your buck. It should cost around $700 with install and you get every dollars worth out of them.

Agreed again here... gears will wake up the feel of the car and an AM generic CAI will look good and peform well for under a $100.

Just my .02.

Hey wait a second... you don't have a V6!!! j/k, I've seen ya around the forum, but never over here -- are you thinking of getting a V6? :shigrin haha

CAI, midpipe (h or x if you don't already have one), 3.73 gears, t-lock, and a tune.

That'll wake the car up pretty well.

I'd recommend American Muscle as well, they have free shipping on all orders over $100.

i wonder how much it will cost to have the 3.73 gears and the t-lock put in? I currently have a single flowmaster 40 series exaust.

Pretty much hit the spot on the list, since you do have a single pipe, you will have to convert to dual for the h or x pipe. Also, your stock exhaust manifolds do just fine so headers at this point are not worth the money. Good luck:bigthumbsup

With parts and install it should be around $700-800.
Gears: $170
T-Lok: $220
Bearing kit: $60
Diff oil and additive: $30
Install: $300

Just a rough estimate. Then you have your computer reflashed so the speedo is correct for 3.73 gears. If you have a tuner this is easy otherwise a dealer has to do it. I'm not sure how much the charge but, it shouldn't be very much.
