I have a 85 GT lots of mods,17" wheels 235's Griggs front and rear all the goodies, however a big problem the steering. Dead straight it is NUMB! no road feel plus there is about 1" of play, all through turns there is no road feel. I am told the only thing left to try is a manual rack and I am fine with that, the roads up here in northern NH,ME are sweeping fast roads and almost no citys. However I have been through 3 alignment shops,it has got a lot better but not at all good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way it is a new ARG rack.

tie rods, ball joints, a arm bushings all have some effect. A new rack can be crappy as well if its not good quality or the right ratio. If you still have a rag joint I would swap it to a solid shaft. No power steering kinda sucks IMO. And you will need a solid shaft to go manual anyway. How tall are your tires and what springs do you have? My lowering sport springs made a big difference.
