Help: wiring harness

I need a little help. I am swapping my 88 gt to mass air. I have a wiring harness for the computer side. But the harness on the driver side that goes to the starter solenoid, coil, and headlights in the car is hacked up. Will the headlight harness from a 4 cylinder work for the driver side. Also if I end up needing the one for the computer can I use the one from a 4 cylinder. I know that the fuel injector harness will be different on that side. Thanks in advance.

The harness for the headlights should be the same, except I think you won't have any fog lights if you use it, not sure, as for the computer it might be the same harness, but then again the engine the harness is for has half the cylinders the engine your using it with has, so it might not work, hopefully someone with more experience with fox body harnesses will speak up. Good luck!
The only wiring you need to deal with is between the ECM and engine. ???
The chassis wiring in not involved in the swap to MAF.
Is there a reason your are swapping all of the wiring in the car, and not just the engine harness? They are 2 different harnesses.

That's not right at all man. With a normal 5.0 harness, there's included wiring from the dash, air bag, TFI, all sorts of crap.

It's frustrating, because you can't just get the harness offered by Ford Racing to build a regular Mustang. You have to get something from a donor vehicle with the same particulars.

Of course the wires for the chassis are bundled with the engine harness, but if you unwrap the bundle, the wires are separate.

People swap to MAF all the time without rewiring the entire car. So how was I wrong?

Of course the engine harness incorporates the TFI, anything computer controlled is in that harness.
88s don't have airbags.
The wires going to the dash are for the CEL.

The OP is talking about changing the headlight harness to swap to MAF for crying out loud!
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THAT!:heha:
To the OP:

Just get a "universal" kit from RJM.
Best harness I have ever used. Well worth the money.
They are 2 different harnesses.
My bad man...this is the part on which I was focusing, since they aren't two separate harnesses. Different, yes; separate, no.

Speaking of the headlight wiring harness, on my 94, where does the harness end? I pulled on a wire too hard when I was re-splicing it at the headlight and now it doesn't work. Tried tracing it to where it goes but there's too much wiring to unbundle the entire way, I unwrapped a foots worth next to the headlight and before the fuse box, both ends I see different wires so somewhere in there the wires start joining into bigger wires, just can't figure out where

Had to re-splice it because it was cut off when the shop I bought it from was fixing it from the accident, sloppy move on their part that is now biting me in the ass.
