HELP with purchasing a H pipe.

Okay i just purchased my first mustang. 2000 red mustang gt 5 speed. it has a bbk thottle body, 3.55 gears maybe 3.73's not sure, and flowmaster 40s. Im wanting to buy a off road h pipe to make my exhaust sound amazing. Can you buy a bbk shorty h pipe and put it on without having the longtubes and will the exhaust still come out the back of the car? I wanted to get the h pipe before i get a cai. Im not looking to buy headers anytime soon. Too pricy for my 17 year old budget hah. Well if anyone could answer the question about the h. i Will apprciate it, and any more advice on what to do next would be appreciated too.

need a normal sized H for easy bolt up, if you have duals then theres no reason for the H but a GT H can be had cheap on craiglist or at a local scrapyard and welded in.

Your post doesn't make any sense...

All GT's have dual exhaust from factory, what he is asking is whether or not he can put a shorty H-Pipe on without long tube headers. The answer is NO. If you could, why would they produce regular length mid-pipes? You will need a regular sized H-Pipe. And don't bother getting a catted one unless you want it for the sound differences, the high-flow cats won't pass emissions anyway.

OP: Use the search function and research your problems/questions before posting.

WTF are you talking about?
OP - look at the Jeg's O/R H-pipe. It's a good quality piece for a good price and I installed/use one my damn self... so I know it isn't a piece of garbage like every product BBK makes.

Don't put any more BBK parts on your car. My .02

So the Jeg's is good? It seems so generic to me and I haven't heard much about them other than that they are cheap. I was going to settle for the MAC O/R H-Pipe, but if Jeg's has no fitment issues or leaks or anything I might just settle for that.

who knows. this is the guy that said a sensor bolted to the front of an engine could be a radar jammer.....

I'm happy with the Jegs. I'm not an exhaust tone nazi like some people are.
The car isn't stupid loud, but it's aggressive enough to sound good. No fitment problems. It bolts together at the H, so if you need to pull the pipes for maintenance down the road, you can take only one side off if you need to. Which is a plus IMO.
No leaks.

I have JBA shorties and Flowmaster catback hooked up to it. No complaints.

Hey Bruss 3, send me a PM.
Thanks, Cappa
I'll send you one.

Oh. That makes perfect sense.
I was confused.
So what would be the best to hook up with my 40s.? I'm thinking about purchasing a MAC o/r one considering I don't have to pass emission in sc.
It comes down to personal preference, dude. There are guys out there that are never happy with the way the car sounds and swap out systems constantly.

IMO... loud and obnoxious is fun for a while. Until you get tickets and all your neighbors hate your guts.

I am all stock. I just want an O/R midpipe to make it louder and from what I have read it is one of the few bolt-ons that will actually put out a few extra rwhp. Win-Win situation for me! lol. I have been back and forth between a X and a H pipe, but because I am stock and won't be changing my catback for a while I figured a H-pipe will sound better, and I like the deeper rumble of a H pipe.

Lol, I just want mine to be louder and more aggressive. Even the f*ckin ricers with fart cannons sound louder than my stock GT (but unlike mine, they sound like sh!t).

I don't see why you don't like bbk. I hope you had some parts to really put them down. I have bbk longtube headers, bbk off road midpipe and flowmaster catback. I love the way my car sounds!

The Mac O/R H-pipe is only $170, although that is aluminized steel instead of stainless, but I honestly couldn't care less about that. I already got it installed and I love it, got it for free.
