help with rear suspension clunk

The sound is similar to a strut bearing rattle or clunk when they are shot, but its coming from the rear of the car. Exhaust and mufflers are not the culprits. Any ideas of what to check would be a help.

could you be hearing the drive shaft clunking?

Check Panhard bar bolt torque. If not clamped tight the bolt rattles in the bushing sleeve. Ask me how I know.

When does the noise happen?

What has changed(i.e. suspension work) and when did you first notice the noise?

You said you checked the exhaust, how exactly? Could the pipes be contacting the axle?

I see you have 55D springs which means the rear shocks were unbolted for their installation, have you checked those?

I also see you have a convertible which has additional structure braces, were those worked on or possibly contacted by the axle when doing the suspension work?

Also note, in case you did the suspension changes a while ago that does not mean they aren't to blame. If a bolt was snugged but not torqued it can still come loose.

I wonder if the 55d's are causing the axle to hit the factory bump stops.

I had a rattle from the rear of the car. All the suspension was stock. Tech found the bolt securing the lower control bar was loose. He tightened it and all is well.

Thank you all, I will first check all the bolt torques, make sure they are to spec, Its a very subtle sound i here so i know its not a bottom out issue or exhaust. But who knows, maybe when I put the springs in some bolt might have loosened a bit.
